Very well organised trip by Nature Travel Namibia (Petra) and with a fantastic guide, Stewart, who was not only very keen on sharing his vast knowledge of the local fauna, flora, geology, astronomy etc, but also great fun to be with. We had an unforgettable experience thanks to you. Our only regret is that it was too short - we will be back!

We have just returned to Madrid after celebrating my 50th birthday in Namibia, and this was without question one of the most magical trips of our lives.

From the very first email, the booking process with Nature Travel Namibia was seamless. Nicolette listened carefully to our budget and preferences and created a completely customised tour that exceeded every expectation. Communication was always fast, clear and incredibly efficient. Every question was answered immediately, every detail handled professionally. We felt completely confident from the beginning.

The itinerary was beautifully structured. Each location somehow felt more special than the last, building perfectly towards an unforgettable finale at &Beyond, which quite literally went beyond anything we have experienced before. I have travelled extensively in Africa and done many safaris, and the level of excellence there was exceptional.

A very special mention must go to our guide, Delano. We feel incredibly lucky to have had him. He was warm, professional, knowledgeable and went out of his way to accommodate every request. Nothing was ever too much trouble. He anticipated our needs before we even expressed them and made the entire journey feel effortless. The fact that he speaks English, German and Afrikaans was an added bonus and made communication completely seamless. We were truly looked after from beginning to end.

My birthday celebration — complete with a full cocktail bar set up in the middle of the desert — was something I will never forget. Magical, thoughtful and absolutely worth every cent.

If you are looking for a perfectly organised, tailor-made African adventure with flawless communication and genuine care, we cannot recommend Nature Travel Namibia highly enough. We will most definitely be back

My daughter and I had the most amazing trip organised by Ellen at NTN. Everything worked like clockwork and Ellen was always available if we needed her. Self driving was super easy and made it a proper adventure. Booking through a local tour operator meant the price for what we got was very good too; 2 weeks road trip through the amazing Namibian vistas, 6 great lodges (all quite different), fab food, fab people and amazing, bountiful animal life - lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, rhino, seal, zebra, giraffe (x about 1000) more than 10 types of Bok and even a tortoise or two. It really was the most amazing 2 weeks that neither of us will ever forget.

We returned from an incredible 20-day honeymoon in Namibia (December 2025), and we cannot recommend Nature Travel Namibia and Pepi highly enough!

From our very first contact, Pepi was absolutely amazing. She took the time to truly listen to our needs and wishes, patiently adjusted our itinerary multiple times, and answered every single one of my (admittedly picky!) questions with care and expertise. Her knowledge of Namibia and attention to detail made all the difference.

Our trip covered Sossusvlei's stunning dunes, Etosha National Park's incredible wildlife, the charming coastal town of Swakopmund, and the rugged beauty of Damaraland. Every aspect exceeded our expectations - the accommodations were outstanding, the wildlife experiences were breathtaking, the food was exceptional, and the overall flow of the itinerary was perfect.

What truly sets Pepi and Nature Travel Namibia apart is the personal touch and dedication. Even while she was on her own vacation, Pepi continued to answer our questions and provide restaurant recommendations. She even went the extra mile to book us, free of charge, at one of Swakopmund's finest restaurants with the best view to celebrate our honeymoon. It was an unforgettable evening.

Everything ran seamlessly. Every hotel and activity provider knew about the agency and Pepi, which made us feel well taken care of throughout our journey.

Namibia itself is a wonderful country, the landscapes are otherworldly, the people are warm and welcoming, and the sense of adventure is everywhere you turn. It's a destination that stays with you long after you leave...
My only regret? We didn't get to meet Pepi in person! But she is very welcome to visit us in Italy anytime, we have plenty of chocolate waiting for her!

If you're planning a trip to Namibia and want the absolute best experience, look no further than Nature Travel Namibia and ask for Pepi. You're in the right hands!

Having not done a trip of this nature before we arranged a 7 day guided tour of Namibia taking in Etosha National park, the desert region and Swakomund Bay. Nature Travel Namibia exceeded our expectations in every way. The trip itinerarywas well organised and communication throughout by Pepi was exceptional. We had every confidence that we were going to be in for a good trip. We were not dissapointed by any of the accomodation, food and the vehicle used for the trip.

Our Guide, Stuart is one of the best! and i dont say this lightly after travelling with many guides in the past. His knowledge of the wildlife and the Namibian environment was fabulous, he particularly showed great passion about Namibia and where to be in the parks to witness the animal highlights! We had some long transfers to get around in the time we had but Stuart was great fun in the car, great sense of humour and able to communicate about most things inside or outside his own country. This made all the trips memorable ones.
Anyone wanting to travel to Namibia should consider Nature Travel Namibia, you wont be disappointed!

Nature Travel Namibia are a great company to organize a tour of Namibia. We did a 23 day tour around Namibia , which included 2 days in Botswana and 1 day in Victoria Falls. Petra was responsible for our tour and wonderful to work with. She was quick in answering emails and was flexible in making changes to our itinerary based on my requests.
Our guide Joram was absolutely amazing. He was an excellent driver, interesting to talk to with lots of knowledge of the places that we visited. He is also an amazing spotter of animals when going on safari. You will be extremely lucky to have him as your guide.
Nature Travel Namibia have an option of a pop-up roof vehicle at an extra cost (which is not always an option in other companies). This was important to me and I recommend the pop-up roof for your safari.
We had a wonderful holiday and I totally recommend going with Nature Travel Namibia.

Our trip to Namibia was absolutely amazing — truly the best trip ever! From the very start, planning with Nicolette was such a pleasure. She is incredibly knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, and always responded right away. She made the entire planning process effortless and gave us everything we needed to prepare for our journey.

We were lucky enough to have the most incredible tour guide and driver, Lucky. He was without a doubt the best guide and driver we’ve ever had. Friendly, kind, and attentive, he catered to our every need and made us feel completely at home. Lucky went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable, and I have never experienced a guide like him before.

As a driver, Lucky was exceptional — careful, skilled, and incredibly safe, which is so important in Namibia where distances can be long. I always felt completely secure in his care. He also amazed us with his ability to spot wildlife along the roads; it felt like we had our own private safari without even planning one! His eyes are truly incredible for spotting animals, and it made our journey even more magical.

I definitely recommend this tour company and cannot thank Nicolette and Lucky enough for giving us such a perfect, safe, and unforgettable experience in Namibia.

Our wedding was in September and we asked well travelled friends where they suggested us to go and they unanimously said to go to Namibia. I found Nature Travel Namibia (NTN) online and out of all the operators I reached out to, NTN was the most engaged, prompt, professional and tailored operator. After reading a lot of guides, I had some ideas on what I wanted us to see and do and my husband wanted to leave from Victoria Falls. We did a 3 week tour mostly in Namibia with the end of the trip in Botswana and Zimbabwe. We self-drove across Namibia and had the most magical experience, starting the trip with sceneries (canyons, desert, sea) and finishing our Namibia and Botswana experience with Safaris.

We love Petra, who organized the whole trip for us, she picked the best hotels – some of the most beautiful and surprising places we could only dream of and didn’t know existed. We had some of the best food in Namibia. We loved the calm and relaxing end of the trip in Botswana. We wouldn’t return to Zimbabwe- the falls were beautiful but it was enough to be there for 1 night before returning to our home country. We would definitely return to Namibia and Botswana, and would chose NTN again as operator in a heartbeat. We have to say that Hoodia Lodge was maybe the highlight of our trip – even if we stayed in many magical places, the staff and owners were just fantastic.

Do book different types of safaris: boat, drive, morning, evening as the animals you can see and the experiences are so unique. We love the hot air balloon tour over the desert, seeing wild animals running down below. The peace and quiet of the desert and nature was fantastic, it was a shock going to a town after getting used to living with the rising and setting of the sun. Since the honeymoon we have grown our family and cannot wait for our kids to be old enough to take them on a safari, shame we will have to wait a while before going back. If you have any doubts on who to chose for a safari honeymoon or luxury holiday, I cannot recommend Petra and NTN more.

I read about Nature Travel Namibia on the net and some positive client reviews made me contact them for planning my 10-days’ trip 31st Jan to 9th Feb 2025. My goal was to see some key mammal and bird species that I had dreamt of for many years as well as to get an overall experience of the unique Namibian nature with its deserts, rocks and coastline. Petra Joell caught my expectations and booked my itinerary and was responsive and energetic in her communication and I immediately felt that I was in good and professional hands. Petra’s husband Buzzy met me at the airport in Windhoek 31st of January and the adventure started right away. Buzzy and I then had 10 epic days together and I really enjoyed his guiding and company, and he managed to find my dream species and much more. It was obvious that Buzzy knew how and when to look for different mammal and bird species and he also demonstrated deep skills when it came to reptiles, amphibians, insects, spiders and plants. We also found some rare birds and Buzzy got to new life birds and it is always a good thing when the guide gets excited. As a biologist since my early childhood and education at the University, it was great for me to be able to discuss the processes and links within the Namibian nature with Buzzy to get a deeper understanding regarding these quite extreme ecosystems. The lodges we stayed at were top class situated in the middle of nature with great food, rooms and service.

From my heart I can really recommend that you go with Nature Travel Namibia in the Southern part of Africa.

~Vesa – Finland.
I had two days intense birding trip with Nature Travel Namibia, My guide Colandri was amazing, She was so talented especially on voices. She had energy to find out every bird we saw or heard. Our targets was mainly nearly endemic birds, and she founded almost all possible species. Overall everything went very smoothly and like we had agreed. I can recommend Nature Travel Namibia without any hesitation.

~Rodrigo Sanchez – Mexico.
The tour was great from the beginning, the communication with Pepi who arrange the tour was excellent, and the guide David was memorable, he is a great person, intelligent, kind, full of knowledge about Namibia, we learn too much from him.
The lodges where great, the food was delicious and David did everything to make us feel comfortable.
Thank you for everything it was an unforgettable trip.

Embarking on a travel adventure in Namibia during Christmas 2024 was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and warm hospitality of the Namibian people made our trip unforgettable – Especially that of our guide from Nature Travel Namibia- Lucky G (who quickly became part of our family!)

Our adventure began in Windhoek, the capital city, where we travelled through the city to the wide open roads where we experienced mountain passes and amazing food along the way!

During our stay, we journeyed to the breathtaking Sossusvlei region. The iconic red dunes of Deadvlei were an absolute highlight. Climbing the dunes at sunrise was a surreal experience; the sight of the sun casting golden hues over the landscape was truly magical. We also took the time to explore the nearby Sesriem Canyon, a natural wonder that showcases the incredible geological history of the area, all made even better by the knowledge of Lucky, who never left any stone unturned when it came to explaining the geography and history of all the places we visited.

Our visit to Swakopmund was a true highlight -a true coastal gem! We stayed here for 2 nights and felt so at home. We can’t wait to return one day. Here we enjoyed quad-biking and sand boarding down the sand dunes. A real holiday highlight.

Towards the end of our itinerary was the wildlife-rich Etosha National Park. We embarked on exhilarating game drives, spotting cheetahs, lions, and even a rare sighting of the endangered black and white rhino. We spent hours mesmerised by the interactions of various species and our guide Lucky explained in detail about every single animal we spotted. A night spent at two of the park’s lodges was equally enchanting, as we enjoyed a starlit dinner under the expansive African sky.

One of the most interesting experiences was visiting the 5000-year-old rock engravings. The warmth and hospitality we encountered were overwhelming from other various guides we met. Engaging with the communities and learning about their traditions and way of life was a highlight of our trip. We left with a deeper understanding of their culture and a newfound appreciation for their resilience and connection to the land.

Spending Christmas in Namibia was unlike any holiday experience we had before. We celebrated at our lodge in Twyfelfontein, where the staff organised a special dinner featuring a fusion of traditional Namibian dishes and festive favourites. The evening was filled with laughter as we made new memories to last a lifetime. It was a beautiful reminder that the essence of the holidays lies in togetherness, regardless of where you are in the world.

Our Christmas adventure in Namibia was a perfect blend of exploration, relaxation, and cultural immersion. The country’s stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and rich cultural heritage makes it a top destination for any traveller! Whether you’re seeking adventure or a serene escape, Namibia offers something for everyone. I wholeheartedly recommend experiencing this beautiful country with the support of Nature Travel Namibia—it truly was a journey of a lifetime. The lodges Nature Travel Namibia planned for us to stay in were nothing short of amazing. Each with their own unique vibe and experience.

I would like to extend our thanks to Amber and Lucky from Nature Travel Namibia. Our trip was truly made even more special by having Lucky as our guide. We will be forever grateful for this experience. We are already planning our next African adventure!

Thank you, The Maher Family.

So I found Nature Travel Namibia through an acquaintance in my hometown. Obviously, it’s less expensive to go through a local company than through American tour operators, but without the recommendation, I don’t know that I would have chosen a local company like NTN. I’m so glad I found them!! I worked with a lovely woman via email who planned the private trip with me.

We wanted to see Sossusvlei in Namibia and go on Safari, and we wanted to see South African culture. Our tour operator gave us both, and dealt with our dietary needs (2 vegetarians and a GF kid.) To say we ate well is an understatement. I gave a short list of what we were looking for and she provided. My girls and I had studied Apartheid, and we wanted to see Soweto and Constitutional Hill; my husband is a photographer and wanted to see leopards and rhinos.

We moved around a lot, and there was someone waiting for us at every stop. My anxiety levels were low after we met our first guide: the whole thing was almost too easy for us! It was a wonderful trip, and when I asked to be tour guide-free in Cape Town at the end, NTN set us up at a convenient location for walking and left tickets at the hotel for Robben Island. Honestly, I cannot stress this enough: NTN took care of us! I was in contact with them only once during the trip, and that was just to say thanks.

The guides they gave us were not only competent, but fun to be around. They stuck to our budget, and found ways to stretch it. Seriously, don’t hesitate to use them. They really know what they’re doing. It was a trip of a lifetime for us, and we met some really wonderful people. I feel enormous gratitude for Nature Travel Namibia, and I am already planning to use them again to see Vic Falls and the Okavango Delta: we just need a few years to make that happen. 🤗

~Julia – United Kingdom.
We had a very smooth experience with Nature Travel Namibia. Petra was very helpful during the planning stage and customized the itinerary according to our preferences. The trip itself went without any hiccups, we had no issues with the pre-booked accommodations, transfers and activities, so we didn’t have to communicate with the tour operator apart from a couple of non-urgent questions from us, to which we got the replies.
We are very happy with the experience, it was very unique and memorable, and we definitely recommend Nature Travel Namibia to make the organization of the trip stress-free.

~Zanna & Peter.
This Nature Travel Namibia holiday involved travelling between game lodges every one or two days.   The rationale was that this would maximise our chances of seeing a wide variety of birds and mammals.   This plan worked out extremely well since we saw 320 species of birds, easily exceeding our expectations. There was always something new to look for, which was exciting.

The potential downside of the plan was that the amount of time spent the vehicle could be oppressive.   In fact it was not because being in AC in the heat of the day is an attractive option,  because Buzzy, our guide,  was an excellent driver and because the vehicle,  a Toyota Hilux, was comfortable.  The bureaucracy associated with entering and exiting Botswana was minor and not a deterrent to visiting the country to enjoy Pel’s Fishing Owl and White-backed Night Heron, two of the highlights of the trip.

Given where we needed to be to see key species such as Ross’s Turaco and Sable Antelope,  the itinerary was very well planned.   It also helped visitors like us from the chilly North that we spent two days in cool Swakopmund near the start of our trip, where we saw a Cape Penguin and, we believe,  caused it to be rescued.  Seeing the difference in land use North and South of the Red Line was fascinating.

In a few cases there was not much choice about where to stay if we were to pursue the plan but in practice this was not an issue as even our least attractive accommodation was perfectly satisfactory.    Some of the accommodation was excellent, such as Mokuti, Okonjima, Xaro and Mahangu.  The food was also superb at these places, especially the various types of antelope steaks cooked on open fires.  Also excellent was the food in Swakopmund, where The Tug (for fish) and Cafe Anton (for kaffee und kuchen) are highly recommended.  It must also be said that the price of high quality meals was very low by European standards and the red wines were both superb and extremely good value.   Big thanks to Buzzy for telling us what to buy at the supermarket!  Corkage charges in the restaurants were minimal.

Finally,  given the main point of the trip was to see wildlife,  how good a wildlife guide was Buzzy?  All we can say is that he was amongst the very best we have ever had: really good at finding things,  showing them to us and, in challenging cases, working logically to figure out what we were seeing.  When a lodge insisted that game drives must be undertaken with one of its own guides, we noticed a very substantial, negative shift in our experience.   We must also say that Buzzy was very energetic, which we really appreciated,  and made the trip genuinely interesting by telling us about a wide range of events and situations in Namibia as well as wildlife ranging from birds and mammals to herps and arachnids.

In summary,  a great trip with a great guide!

~Camyll – United States.
The tour was beyond our expectations. The value for what we received was amazing. We stayed at beautiful lodges with incredible hospitality, enjoyed delicious food (and they were very accommodating toward the dietary restrictions in our group), and learned so much from our knowledgeable guide.

The planning phase was extremely detailed and hands on, and our guide also allowed us to make adjustments to our trip as we saw fit while we were on it. We appreciated the flexibility and customization. We saw so much on our safari game drives, from wildlife to beautiful flora and scenery. Our guide was great at spotting animals and teaching us about animal habits and their habitat. Our trip to the desert was equally as exciting and we got to enjoy hiking in the beautiful dunes of Namibia. I know that if we had tried to attempt any of this trip on our own our experience would not have been nearly as nice.

The coordination from our planner and our guide truly made this trip so incredible. I also believe had we tried to do this experience on our own, we probably would have ended up spending more. Will definitely be exploring with this company for future trips.

~Sylvie & Andre – Canada.
Our Birds and Mammals private tour has been planned by Petra, our travel consultant for nature Travel Namibia. She did a fantastic job, gave us different suggestions before we decided to book. Finally, she prepared a travel plan with 11 different lodges for 15 days, all amazing. They were clean, comfortable, the meals were good and the staff was nice. Every places offered excellent opportunities to observe birds. We did a list of 176 different birds species.

Our excellent guide, Buzzy Joell, worked very hard from the beginning to the end, to give us satisfaction, beyond our expectations. He’s a very good driver, we always felt safe despite the 3800 kms we covered with him on Namibian roads and tracks. He’s passionate and extremely competent, both in ornithology, mammals, reptiles, insects and plants. He gave us information with skill and professionalism. We spent 2 wonderful weeks together, sharing our meals and our excursions. He was a very pleasant travel companion. He made us discover the nature of Namibia.

~Louise – United Arab Emirates.
We had an amazing time in Namibia thanks to our coordinator Amber Lynn and our guide Lucky. From the first contact with Nature Travel and Amber Lynn until the end, everything was handled professionally and on point. Requests were met and accommodated perfectly, and it was very easy to reach Nature Travel and the communication was always very quick and professional.

The stay in Namibia itself was wonderful! We had such a great time, and Lucky was an amazing guide. From the first moment when he picked us up, until when he dropped us off at the airport, he had a huge smile and was always very friendly, approachable, accommodating, knowledgably and positive. You can tell that he loves what he does and that he has great knowledge about, I would say, everything. There were some long days driving, but Lucky always kept the spirit up and did a great job and always made us feel safe on the roads. Furthermore, he knew the behaviours of the animals, and the perfect spots for the wildlife which made sure we got to experience some amazing moments with amazing views of the action. However, he always respected the animals, and made sure we did not interfere in their lives.

Talking about Namibia, it was such a wonderful country to explore, with so many diverse sites we got to visit. I think we were both blown away by the diversity of the Namibian nature and wildlife. From the sand dunes, to the roughness of the coast, and the inland of Damaraland and then moving on to the safari seeing all the different animals, it was just amazing to see all that Namibia has to offer. The people were always very friendly, and the hotels were just amazing! It was definitely worth the money and we want to come back one day for sure!

Thank you Nature Travel, Amber Lynn and last but not least Lucky for this amazing trip! It is one we will always remember!

~Kathrin.
We booked a private 9 days trip through Namibia and it was exceptionally good. Everything was perfectly organized. Started with the planning of the trip. Amber Lynn was amazing. The communication was very smooth and friendly. She always answered very quickly to all our questions, requests, etc. She planned the perfect trip for us according to our budget and wishes. It was a real pleasure to plan with her. Thankyou Amber Lynn!
The whole trip was very well organized, from the pick up from the airport, the lodges and excursions to the drop off at the airport. You don’t need to worry about anything, just enjoy the trip. We had our private car with our private driver/tour guide Lucky who was amazing. He has such a great knowledge (about wildlife, Namibia, Africa. You could ask him everything about everything), happy personality, is an excellent safe driver and always went the extra mile to make sure our special requests we had during the trip were taken care of. He made everything possible for us which we appreciated a lot. We couldn’t wish for a better guide and travel companion. It was truly an amazing and unforgettable trip for us. We will come back for sure and of course will book the next trip with NTN!

~Matthew- United States.
My wife and I had a truly amazing experience on our safari we booked through Nature Travel Namibia. It started in the planning process working with Amber. She was very easy to work with in putting together our tour, and was always prompt in responding to messages as well as clear in all communications. Once in Namibia, our guide Wilson made the entire experience incredible. Wilson was extensively knowledgeable about local flora/fauna, geology, and history which made the experience enriching. On top of that, he was very professional yet friendly and personable which made the trip even more rewarding. Additionally, we are incredibly grateful to Amber, Wilson, and Joram for helping navigate our lost luggage and coordinating a meetup to get it back! We had a truly amazing trip to Namibia!

~Andres- Spain.
Petra was great helping me to organise the whole trip, thank you for her patience with me because I know I’ve been challenging sometimes! ☺️ She was able to book great lodges and activities around Namibia with the right way for me (anti clock wise).
And of course thank you to the phenomenal David, our guide. His huge experience, knowledge of nature and kindness made this private trip just awesome for me and my wife.
Definitely we recommend NTN.

~Anita.
We absolutely loved our 10 day tour with Nature Namibia. Chris was an excellent guide and we want to thank him for his great driving and extensive knowledge of Namibia’s landscapes, history, flora and fauna, including the birdlife!

Our highlights were the incredible landscapes at Sossusvlei, both the dunes and Deadvlei. Our other highlights included stays at Twyfelfontein and Etosha. We would have loved to stay 2 nights at Twyfelfontein to really enjoy the lodge and the surroundings. It was one of our favourite places and would recommend it highly. At Etosha we saw incredible wildlife including lions. The lodges throughout the trip were beautiful and the food was great. We also really enjoyed the sand dune tour at Swakopmund.
Our many thanks to Amber for the great service, prompt responses to questions and ease of booking. We would definitely recommend booking a tour with Nature Namibia.

~Mauro.
We did an 18-days self-drive safari of Namibia with an extension to Victoria Falls fully organized by Nature Travel Namibia. It has been a wonderful experience! It was our first time in an African country and we were unsure about all the long distance driving to do on our own, but following the suggestions of our contact person Nadine Jones of NTN we felt comfortable and safe all the time during the trip.

We could design the itinerary as we wanted, taking a slow pace and staying more days at each location instead of travelling every day, and we did not miss any of the places we wanted to visit. The selection of lodges and hotels was perfect, in stunning locations and excellent quality. All was as advertised and promised, and NTN was always quickly responding to our emails and requests. We also asked for a couple of changes during the travel itself and they were kindly and efficiently accommodated. I will not hesitate to use NTN for future holiday plans!

~Gianpaolo Novelli – Italy.
I spent 11 amazing days in Namibia with my girlfriend doing incredible activities and stayed in very nice hotels with all the comforts one can ask for and amazing views. Each activity/hotel was organized by Nature Travel Namibia well in advance and for a fair price overall.

My contact person for NTN was Pepi Kern. She was very professional and helpful in tailoring our itinerary in Namibia according to our requests and informing us about cool activities to do once there.
My tour guide for the whole trip was David Mlambo. He was very knowledgeable about the nature and the history of Namibia. He was always keen and reliable at driving us to so many amazing places and picking us up from the activities we did – we really appreciated that. I would definitely recommend exploring Namibia with NTN! 🙂

~Pedro – Argentina.
We are a family of four, with two daughters (13 and 10 years old). Our package was a 14-day Namibia – Chobe – Vic Falls tour with a guide, staying in mid-range lodgings.
Our expectations for this trip were high, and it is safe to say that they were well exceeded. Everything was amazing, well planned, with truly astonishing places and experiences.
But the best part of all was our guide, Stewart. He is really awesome, so knowledgeable, and great for conversations. Without him, the trip would have still been fine, but because of him, it was extremely great.

~Alok – India.
Great expertise with Nature travel Namibia – we booked our Kruger trip with them. Nadine was really helpful and prompt, whenever needed; and catered to our need considering we had a 5 year old kid with us.

~Mary Collins – Australia.
We were looking at travelling to Namibia and after doing reviews on operators and itineraries I realised that most are for group tours, scheduled stops, no flexibility and then I came across Nature Travel Namibia. After looking at the reviews I decided to contact them to see and hear what they could offer us. My agent was Petra Joell, and together we put together a private trip that was at our pace and also included all the places I had been researching and wanted to see that other companies didn’t offer including extra time here and there to relax or do our own thing occasionally. Not one thing went wrong and if it did we didn’t know about it…just seamless travel.

At one location early in our trip I mentioned that I didn’t eat fish and was lactose intolerant. Normally, I work around this and don’t have a problem. Well from then on, every resort made sure my meals met my needs. I just couldn’t believe the little touches Petra did including organising a cake for my birthday..in fact 3 at different places on the day!

Petra was always prompt in replying, offering suggestions, making changes and put together our 3 wk holiday through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.

She then gave us the best guide ever Stewart who was an encyclopedia on animals (including elephant tracking which we did) and birds. Initially, we were not that interested in birds but we certainly became enthralled with his knowledge and stories about the animals and birds. I just love meeting local people and Petra ensured I had ample time to go to villages and meet the locals which I simply loved. Even saw the big 5.

As this trip was to be paid overseas, we were a little nervous as you hear all these awful stories but that was not the case here. All payments went through correctly and we received all that was promised…5 star too!

I have travelled to over 90 countries and on many tours but this was the best organised, gave value for money and lived up to be the best trip ever. My partner has even said we are going back to africa. Here I was worried that he wouldn’t love it as I did but he absolutely loved it and tells everyone we are going back to africa next year.

I couldnt recommend this company more highly and wld happy to talk to anyone if they had any question. Thank you Nature Travel Namibia…best trip ever!

~Massimo – Italy.
We organized an 8-day classic safari with Nature Travel Namibia. The management of the trip and any necessary customization was made very effective by Amber’s availability, always ready to respond to our every request. The trip was very well organised, our guide Colandri was very knowledgeable and friendly, a nice person full of enthusiasm who showed us many secrets of Namibian nature. All in all an experience to be highly recommended.

~Joseph – United States.
Nature Travel Namibia arranged a fantastic 14 day private safari for us in Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. They worked closely with us to develop and customize the exact itinerary we wanted and kept it within the price range we proposed. All the lodges they selected for us were beautiful and convenient to the national/safari parks. During the Namibia portion of the trip, we were given a private guide, Wilson Garafa, who was not only incredibly knowledgeable about all the wildlife we saw, but also about ecology, geology, and history as well. He was very attentive to our comfort and ensured everything went smoothly. It really was just an amazing experience. I highly recommend Nature Travel Namibia if you’re planning a safari in southern Africa.

We weren’t sure whether we could afford a safari holiday to Namibia, so we went to Nature Travel Namibia with a whole raft of questions and possible scenarios. They were prompt in replying (every time), very flexible when it came to our suggested changes (especially when we had a last minute yearning to see Hippos, causing a complete rescheduling of our itinerary!) and very helpful in providing the kind of advice on things that we wouldn’t have known about if we’d taken it on ourselves (driving distances and when to stop overnight, road conditions etc).

The road map was very useful, as was the pre-tour information provided. The rep we met in Windhoek was friendly, polite and provided a list of numbers for us to contact if there were any problems – they didn’t have too much to do though, as the pre-tour pack was extensive enough that we really didn’t have many questions, but we were left feeling that we were in capable hands should anything go wrong (which it didn’t).

Everything went very smoothly; airport transfers, hire car pick up, accommodation etc. Our list of what we wanted to see was superbly met by the itinerary provided. I think the value for money was good – it certainly felt like it to us. Nothing at all to complain about and we’re more than happy to recommend Nature Travel Namibia to anyone thinking to visit this wonderful country.

Working with Petra at Nature Travel Namibia was a delight. She was responsive, provided helpful communications and ideas and clearly answered any questions. She worked hard to put together an amazing itinerary that met all our goals for the trip. The information provided during the planning process and ahead of departure was perfect and ensured we were well prepared. She even went above and beyond and arranged for me to have a yoga mat! Everything during our trip went smoothly – travel, transport, guides and all the accommodations were wonderful. We found the staff across the board to provide excellence service and to be warm and welcoming. Our driver/guide in Namibia took great care of us along our journey. Exploring Botswana and Namibia was an incredible experience and would highly recommend visiting and using Nature Travel Namibia to help plan your trip.

~Carolyn – Canada.
Our tour in Namibia was perfect in every way. Our tour guide (Stewart) was knowledgeable, funny and an excellent driver. Pepi, our tour agent, found us the perfect accommodations and included thoughtful extras such as birthday surprises and wine. Etosha is teeming with wildlife and we watched cheetahs hunt, a white rhino having a mud bath and elephants frolicking in a waterhole. Sossusvlei is resplendentwith red sand dunes and azure sky. Don’t worry about using Namibia dollars, South African rand is accepted everywhere. I would highly recommend using Nature Travel Namibia to plan your trip. The value for money is incredible.

We couldn’t have asked for better. From our first dealings with Nature Travel Namibia [NTN] we were treated to excellent service. The back office team [Petra in the main], worked their magic to find accommodation that suited our desires for luxury at a price we could afford. This wasn’t straightforward and in the end needed a change of direction, so instead of finishing at Etosha, we started there.

Our guide, Joram, was a lovely guy and he knew his subjects well. Even while driving, his experienced eyes would pick out something to see, usually animals in the far distance, but this made for a great adventure. Every place we visited he had a story to tell us about and very soon we were made very comfortable. His driving was exemplary and when we stopped for the night, he took care of our luggage, and us as well!

He’d even go as far as driving us to a restaurant [booked by NTN] and return to pick us up when we’d finished. He knew when we needed an early start to avoid traffic and heat, and knew when he could afford to allow us the luxury of a small lie in. The standard of all our accommodations was exactly what we would have wished for, and we would cheerfully do it all again, booked, of course, through NTN.

~Ryan – United States.
We had a vision of what we wanted to see and do and Petra was able to make that a reality.
She listened.

She was thoughtful and she talked me through her experiences, her ideas and together we finalized the itinerary. We had an amazing 9 days and we saw a ridiculous amount of animals, landscapes, birds and scenery in that time. Our guide Buzzy knew his stuff like the back of his hand. Scorpions, birds wildlife? Yes yes and yes. We had done safaris in SA before but Buzzy brought a local knowledge and perspective that was genuine and real.
The pricing was spot on. Value for money.

If you’re thinking self drive…
Don’t.
Do the guide.
Get Buzzy and let him show you the places you should see.
Would definitely do it over if the flight to Namibia wasn’t so damn long and Delta wasn’t so terrible.

~Sudha – South Africa.
Amber from Nature Travel Namibia was very helpful and excellent in organizing our short trip to Etosha National Park. First time we had a self-drive trip from Windhoek to Etosha. The car hire from Warthog 4*4 Rentals in Windhoek was very good, and the staff was very helpful. Our accommodation, just near the Etosha Park Gate, was very good. Taleni and Mokuti lodges are very good. We had a seen lots of animals & beautiful birds . The highlight of our trip was huge salt pan in Etosha, must visit place.

~Cathy/Keith – United States.
After traveling 4,320 miles around Namibia, I can only sing praises about the 15 Day Best of Namibia Guided Tour. My traveling companion and I who are both very seasoned travelers were constantly in awe of the service provided. We had a very knowledgeable guide who was a safe driver and knew how to help us access not only what was on our itinerary but also special things as well.

All aspects of the travel went smoothly. We experienced the sites of Namibia with the constantly changing landscape, the magic of Etosha National Park, the Desert Exploration, the citing of wildlife and flora, the history of the country, the ability to have contact with the San, Himba the Herrero and so much more. Everything listed on the website for this trip is fabulous and well planned for access to activities, good lodging and excellent food. We would not have had such an enriching experience if we had planned and driven this trip ourselves. During our hours of driving, we had good conversation, lots of laughs anda personal experience with our guide who was engaging, professional, knowledgeable and funny. This is a highly recommended trip!

~Penny – United Kingdom.
Our 13-day tour was organized by Petra who offered an exceptionally responsive, personal and professional service and created an itinerary which was the perfect balance of seeing as much of the country as possible while not being constantly on the move. It felt great to have her arrange the accommodation – all the lodges she proposed were fabulous. She also quietly arranged a surprise birthday celebration which was very touching. Our guide Buzzy was brilliant – super knowledgeable, an excellent communicator, enthusiastic, and great company. We had an unforgettable holiday. Thoroughly recommended.

~Emily – United States.
We had the trip of a lifetime with Nature Travel Namibia. Leading up to the trip, Amber was very responsive and helpful when planning the tour that would work best for us. We were lucky to have the most amazing guide, Wilson, who was so knowledgeable and such a pleasure to have guiding us. The tour allowed us to see the beauty of Namibia and was very well planned. While we covered a lot of ground during our 11-day tour, it never felt rushed and we were able to appreciate and explore each stop along the way. We were so fortunate to have chosen Nature Travel Namibia and are already planning our next trip back to the beautiful country of Namibia!

~Joseph Raiti.
Nature Travel Namibia (NTN) delivered an A+ service, seamlessly blending independence with a well-organized itinerary for my solo trip around Namibia. Their prompt and passionate team ensured a stress-free experience, with transparent and reasonable costs. NTN’s attention to detail, from accommodations to suggested routes, created a memorable journey. The personalized touch of a detailed itinerary and souvenir map elevated the experience, making NTN my top choice for future adventures. Highly recommended for those seeking a flawless and unforgettable travel experience in Namibia. It truly was the best trip I had ever done.

~Cathy -Netherlands.
First of all the 5 DAY TASTE OF ETOSHA seemed to be the exact tour I was looking for and it turned out to be perfect!!
Communication by e-mail with the tour operator went smoothly. The whole trip was worth its value.
I had the feeling that I could rely on all the information. Our tour guide was a gentleman and knew what he was talking about!

~D Dimi -United States.
Amber from Nature Travel was very responsive and organised our intense agenda to perfection. Delano was a great driver, we felt very comfortable and entertained throughout the entire journey. The properties we stayed were beautiful, with great food and excellent customer service. We truly enjoyed our vacation in Namibia.

~Agnes.
Easy to get in touch with, always quick to reply and give to-the-point answers, good suggestions or find solutions.
Having my tailor-made trip set up, with 7 parrots as specific targets was easy-peasy for me. Every step of the way was transparent, no hidden agendas, no extra costs, … everything was clear as can be.

The trip had 2 segments : northern Namibia and northeast South-Africa and for each part I traveled with local birding guides, very nice people that know their country as the back of their hand. And on top, they are great fun to travel with.

Accommodation was above expectation (even felt a bit out of tune here and there), comfortable car, … what else could anyone want , besides another trip ?!
Nick and your team, well done ! Until we meet again for a Rock Shandy or an Amarula. And more parrots of course.

~Luca & Federica – Italy.
Me and my wife asked Nature Travel Nambia to organize our 5 days Safari in Nambia and we receieved prompt assistance from Amber. She was very kind since the beginning answering all our questions and requests.
She quickly offered us a satisfying intenerary around Etosha natural park with very well chosen lodges to stay. Everything was perfectly detailed and organized. This organization made us very comfortable ready to enjoy our safari
Arrived in Nambia, we met our tour guide Delano who is a very passionate about nature, animals and his country; we appreciated his passion.

We spent great days “gaming” with him enjoying wild life and chatting about many different subjects. He was super kind with us (and we’re sure he is with anyone).
Based on our experience I’d certainly reccomend Nature Travel Namibia to anyone who needs a perfect organization and prefers to live the experience together with someone local

~Catherine D – New Zealand.
It often feels a little risky doing business with an overseas company, especially if you don’t personally know anybody who has used them, but we were so pleased and relieved that we chose Nature Travel Namibia to make the arrangements for our trip to this amazing country. Our entire trip went smoothly and according to plan.

If there were any hitches, we certainly weren’t aware of them. From the first email we sent to the last, Amber Lynne was professional, helpful and very prompt with her investigations on our behalf. She asked all the right questions of us (even when she knew it was going to lead to more work for her) and answered our questions as quickly as she could. She was a pleasure to deal with. We were very happy with the standard of the accommodation (mid-range), the vehicle (perfect for game viewing and in great condition) and, as you’ll read soon, our guide.

From our experience, travelling in Namibia with a private guide is the way to go. If you can scrape together the budget to do it this way, you won’t regret it. The guide does all the hard work (and the driving, which is a big deal) and shoulders the stress while you get to sit back and simply enjoy your holiday.

The guide knows where to find the best lookout points, the best places to eat (or just to have a stop) and the best game viewing spots. If they know what they are doing, they will quickly figure out your interests, point out the things they know you will want to see on your travels and tell you all sorts of interesting things along the way. Our guide was Joram, and he was great. Nothing we wanted to see or do was too much trouble for him and he was a crucial part of what made this trip so fantastic.

Our tour was based on the 11-day Classic Namibia (extended) safari on the Nature Travel Namibia website with a couple of extra days tagged on. We’d originally looked at the 8-day safari, but we were all pleased we decided on the longer one. The distances between places are vast, so to be able to spend a bit more time in each area is well worth it. We had read a warning about luggage being delayed going into Windhoek and that is exactly what happened to us (and several other people we spoke to). We had already decided to spend a day in Windhoek prior to starting our safari to get over our jet lag a bit, and when our luggage didn’t arrive, we were very glad we did.

Namibia is a country I’d been wanting to go to for decades, so I had very high expectations. Well, this holiday exceeded those expectations. It honestly was the trip of a lifetime for our family of four adults, and Nature Travel Namibia deserves the credit for making it so. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

~Rima Sengupta – United Kingdom.
I want to thank Nature Travel Namibia for the wonderful trip we had in September 2023.
NTN is an extremely professional company and the best part is how quickly they will respond every time you contact them.

Thank you Pepi – you are a star.
We went on a private trip, our guide was Sebastian Wrede – whose knowledge, punctuality and enthusiasm was exceptional.
No complains too about the lodges where NTN put us up, the extra sightseeing tours they arranged and the car they provided – simply cannot fault anything in the holiday.
Nature Travel Namibia made us feel safe and cared for always.

~Juliana – Brazil.
My husband and I had a wonderful 10 days trip to Namibia, way beyond our expectations.
Namibia is such a beautiful country with a fantastic landscape and wonderful wildlife.
We did the circuit from Windhoek, via Etosha, Twyfelfontein, Swakopmund, Sossusvlei and back to Windhoek.

We thank Nature Travel Namibia for all the planed itinerary that made possible for us to experience so much of your great country.
Our agent Amber answered very quickly to all our e-mails and tailor made the itinerary based on our requests. All worked perfectly. The accommodation was most of the times very good – only one too rustic, and the food was excellent.

Above all our guide Delano was exceptional, we enjoyed so much his company and experience. In Etosha he put a lot a effort to show us a lot of waterholes full of animals, such as giraffes, elephant and zebras. In Damaraland we drove in a dry river bed looking for elephants, it was very fun. We could be very close to these wonderful animals.

In Sossusvlei we also had a wonderful and fun experience, the dunes are truly amazing and breathtaking. The three of us climbed the big daddy and was so much fun.
We would highly recommend NTN for this memorable experience.

~Laura – Canada.
My husband and I embarked on an incredible journey to Namibia, guided by the expert Wilson and meticulously organized by Petra, of Nature Travel Namibia. This adventure left an indelible mark on our hearts, weaving together the wonders of wildlife, stunning landscapes, and rich cultural experiences.

Our adventure began with the iconic climb of Dune 45 in Sossusvlei, where we stood atop a mesmerizing vista in the Namib Desert. The sense of accomplishment and the surreal beauty of the desert still fill our memories. Another highlight was Deadvlei, a place that felt like a dream – a white clay pan surrounded by dead trees and towering dunes, a sight beyond words. Wilson’s insights added a magical touch to this extraordinary place.

The Damara Living Museum, Himba village, and Bushman experiences offered us rich cultural experiences connecting us deeply with Namibia’s indigenous cultures. Our visit to the petrified forest took us back in time, where ancient trees turned to stone, and we marveled at the history and geology of this unique place. Here, we also had the privilege of encountering the remarkable Welwitschias, fascinating living fossils.

Our drives through Etosha National Park were perfectly tailored to our interests, providing two days of thrilling game viewing in one of Africa’s premier wildlife reserves. Wilson’s expertise and passion for Namibia’s natural wonders made every moment unforgettable.

Wilson’s graciousness and enthusiasm made him not just a guide but a cherished companion on this journey. We’ll forever treasure our time with him.

In summary, our adventure with Nature Travel Namibia was nothing short of exceptional. It showcased the best of Namibia, perfectly aligned with our interests. The memories we’ve created will stay with us forever. I wholeheartedly recommend this journey to fellow travelers seeking a customized, well-organized, and awe-inspiring exploration of Namibia. Our heartfelt thanks go to Wilson, Petra, and Nature Travel Namibia for making this trip a dream come true.

~Deb & Rod – Australia.
We cannot recommend Nature Travel Namibia highly enough! Our tour was absolutely fantastic and our guide, Wilson, was so knowledgeable and fun to travel with. He really made our trip extra special. We felt safe at all times and the accommodation was top shelf. From our first communication with Amber Lynn we knew we were in very good hands. She helped us create an itinerary that suited our timeframe and wish list. We were incredibly impressed with the value, quality and integrity of Nature Travel Namibia. We are so glad we had their expert help in creating a once in a lifetime experience.

~Woody – France.
We reached out to Nature Travel Namibia very late before planning the trip.
Hats off to Nature Travel Namibia and especially to Petra. We reached out to them like a month before the trip. Petra has been quick to response, very efficient, taking into account the specific requests we made. And at the end, managed to tailor a trip that met our expectations.

Regarding our guide, Chris, he is a skilled and informative guide. A real encyclopedia of Namibia. He gave us some much information, historical events, landscape evolution, endmic wildlife to fully understand the essence of Namibia. We also ended up following his great suggestions to do some activities we initially didn’t plan to do.
Last but not least, thanks to him we managed to see a leopard in the wild.

~Laurent – United Kingdom.
We reached out to Nature Travel Namibia relatively late in the process of planning our trip. Nevertheless, they efficiently arranged our journey to perfection within a short timeframe. Communication with them was seamless, and we received prompt responses. Our guide, Chris, demonstrated exceptional skills by tailoring our day’s itinerary to meet our specific requests.

~Susan Baker – Australia.
14 day safari tour through Namibia and Botswana finishing up at Victoria Falls. We are four older Australians who embraced all that was on offer during the tour. Our guide and driver Joram was so easy to travel with and quickly understood what we liked to see and do. Having a great sense of humour was a bonus for us. The variety of experiences was surprising: Desert living tours, shipwrecks in the ocean, ancient rock art, Himba tribes, Etosha safaris, river cruises and so many animals to be seen.

Highlights:
Lions leaving the waterhole at sunrise.
White rhino drinking at waterhole and walking towards the vehicle.
Honey badger having a sand bath right near the edge of the road.
30 to 40 elephants of all sizes marching right past our vehicle when they left the waterhole.
Beautiful mirror image photography of giraffe, zebra, Impala.
Hyena bathing in the water.
Finally seeing a cheetah but no leopard.
So many birds to photograph.
Chobe River cruise so special as finally got to see so many hippos on land including babies.
Elephants crossing the water and seeing the baby trunks like snorkels following mum.
Victoria Falls was stunning.

Excellent accommodation at all the places we stayed: some being high end resort others being small very personalised hospitality. Each day was a pleasant surprise.
All four of us had a fantastic time and would love to explore other African places in the future.

~Angie – United States.
This was our first trip to Africa, and we are beyond happy we selected Nature Travel Namibia. For 10 months, we worked with Nicolette who provided prompt answers to a myriad of questions and guided us to great options. We had never met but we feel that she understand implicitly what we were looking for. We were paired with private guide Joram Matenhese who was absolutely tops!

We spent a little over two weeks with him in Namibia and learned so much about nature, the complex cultural and political dynamics between people and animals, and the best places to get coffee and snacks along the way. He is also an amazing expert birder (he knows literally every bird from sight and sound) and knows all the best places and times to see wildlife. It also helped that it seemed like everyone we met in Namibia knows and likes him—from lodge staff to national park gatekeepers to restaurant staff. We felt like VIP traveling with him.

Also, we love all natural things—from little to large—and it was a pleasure to be with him reveling in insects, reptiles, mammals, geology, and flora. If we had traveled alone on a self-guided tour, we would have missed so much and been too preoccupied to enjoy the experience. Regarding the lodges, every place we stayed was comfortable, safe, clean, friendly, and well situated within nature. Memorable highlights were hiking Big Daddy, seeing the dunes meet the ocean in Sandwich Harbour, the Living Deserts guided tour of reptiles and insects in Swakopmund, seeing wildlife in Etosha during the dry season, birdwatching in the Caprivi, and taking a helicopter tour of Victoria Falls. We are going to cherish the experience for the rest of our lives, and we are so fortunate to work with this company and be in the great hands of Nicolette and Joram!

~Elien.
We heard about Nature Travel Namibia from friends who were very positive about their experience with
them, and we are very happy we followed their advice. The whole trip, from the itinerary to the lodges and tented camped to the activities, were absolutely amazing. Petra really hit the spot with choosing the most magical places to stay! Also, the organization was flawless, and when our plane was delayed with 8hrs, Petra immediately supported with making the necessary arrangements, giving us full piece of mind! We definitely recommend Nature Travel, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience.

~Amy Unger.
First of all, I would like to thank Nicolette Muller and Marc Cronje for planning such a diverse and awe inspiring trip through the beautiful country of Namibia which exceeded my expectations. There were only 2 of us on our safari so we had the excellent attention and guidance of Marc . My companion and I couldn’t have been in better hands. Marc was a wealth of knowledge about culture, history and habits of wildlife. He was well qualified to answer all types of questions which we barraged him with during our travel times. I am still marveling at the experience and up close encounters we had with the animals due to his knowledge of the area and animal behaviors.

The accommodations along our route through Namibia were first rate and we always enjoyed wonderful meals of fresh fruits, vegetables and local faire. I appreciate the fact that Nature Travel Namibia Nature uses local vendors to provide our accommodations which focused on utilizing the natural surroundings to enhance the experience. We had wonderful service at every location where we stayed.

This trip was an opportunity of a lifetime and I left the experience with so many exceptional memories to share. I also plan to share that you are never too old to make this trip. At 73 years old I thought I might have to pull back on some of the activities but I was able to participate and experience the wonders of each locale either from the seat of an open sided vehicle searching for desert life, walking the dunes to the see the ancient trees at Sossusvlei, or from the seat of an enclosed vehicle which was able to get close to the Etosha watering holes, I was up for it all.

Thank you again to Marc for taking such good care of Roxann and me and making this an experience of a lifetime which won’t be forgotten.

~Andrew – United Kingdom.
Petra at Nature Travel Namibia was an excellent tour architect for us. She was always considering our multiple idiosyncrasies and working out ways to accommodate despite us not leaving her much time with availability etc. She worked hard to piece together an excellent itinerary which came off perfectly, thanks to the amazing guiding of Wilson. Together they were a very impressive combination which resulted in a truly fantastic holiday. Thanks to you both!!

~Gavin – Hong Kong.
We communicated directly with our agent (Amber) in regards our itinerary. There was a lot of back and fro in our planning. We were also able to use WhatsApp which proved very useful. The itinerary was out together professionally. Detailed lay out of our accommodation, excursions and activities.

During our trip, our guide and driver was a man named Stewart, a very friendly, knowledgable and outgoing person who made us feel welcome and ensured our safety. He drove very well throughout and told us lots about the history and current affairs of the nation. He helped out with photo taking and accomodated our wishes.

The accommodation we stayed in was a delight. The Gondwana collection was superb especially the Canyon Lodge in Fish River Canyon. We loved the food at each especially at Desert Lodge near Sossusvlei. However, we stayed at Belvedere Hotel in Windhoek and weren’t that impressed with the poor quality of the bed (one of the worst night’s sleep of my life) and there was no dinner served at the hotel. We had to order delivery (pizza/pasta, very average). May want to avoid this establishment.

If you’re thinking of going to Namibia, I would highly recommend visiting Sossusvlei(it’s a must do). Be sure to head up the sand dunes and then down into the pan. We also went to Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. The marine cruise was a huge surprise as we got up, close and personal to the seals and pelicans. The beach braai (BBQ) was also a lovely experience. Highly recommended.

However we also went to Fish River Canyon which was a long journey south. I think you could skip this and instead head north to Damaraland and onto Safari in Etosha. We didn’t do these things as we had just come from Safari in Kenya, but our driver said Damaraland was his favourite part of Namibia. The landscape of the nation is stunning. You can drive for hours without seeing other vehicles. There aren’t many tourists around. It’s a great African country for a visit. The roads are in excellent condition.

On our arrival, our luggage was delayed, but Stewart and Amber assisted us and it was on the next flight into Windhoek. Jo’burg airport has a huge issue with luggage and it seems that many travellers do not get their baggage in time. Keep this in mind.

We highly recommend this tour operator for your Namibian trip. You won’t be disappointed.

~Archana – United States.
I have no words to describe NTN and Pepe other than superb in all aspects. Pepe showed complete attention to detail as well as listening to what we asked for. She was able to put together an amazing itinerary with two days notice and find us a superb driver, Martin.

My daughter and I were traveling together and not worried about safety once and could just relax and enjoy the trip. Pepe was able to find us places to stay at a spectrum of price points so we could decide what we would like to do. She answered messages incredibly quickly. Martin also went above and beyond at trying to ensure each day was great. Namibia has always been on my bucket list and I am so glad to have been able to do it in such a spectacular way – seeing a leopard eat its prey up a tree whilst its cub playfully stalked our jeep was truly amazing. A heartfelt thank you for making myself and my daughter have such an amazing time.

Nature Travel Namibia, and Petra Joell helped us in organizing a customised 12 days self drive tour in Namibia.
Petra was always quick to respond, she was very professional, the communication was very smooth from the beginning and the tour was well organized.
We booked lodges, cars and activities and everything work out fine, even last minute requests!
Namibia is a great place to travel to and I highly recommend to use NTN!

Antje Spade
We had never done an organized trip like this before and didn’t really know what to expect. Everything was planned to perfection by Amber. All the lodges where we stayed were great, for accommodations, food, location and staff (we especially loved Mushara Bush Camp). While we would have loved to stay in Africa longer our work schedule did not allow that – but the way the 11 days on this trip were planned was perfect. Just the right amount of time in each location, so we got to enjoy the uniqueness of each place and got to see and experience so much. Everything worked smoothly in every one of the places where we stayed, with no problems on the whole trip.

Our tour guide Stewart was wonderful – very knowledgeable, intelligent, reliable, enthusiastic, and always up for some fun (like a game of “Whose chosen animal will we see the most of on the drive between Etosha South and East?”, which the zebras won with 1015!). Stewart was as excited as we were for the incredible wildlife sightings we had and was very respectful to the animals and their habitat, which we really appreciated (we saw later on a game drive organized by a lodge how other guides crowd the animals and ruthlessly invade their space). He has an amazing eye for wildlife and was able to spot and identify so many animals for us.

We had so many amazing wildlife encounters, from a leaping Lion (on the first evening nonetheless) to baby Elephants and even African Wild Dogs! We saw all the Big Five and so much more!
The only disappointment was the drive through Bwabwata National Park, where we saw almost no animals, as there had been controlled burns along the major highway we were on.

It was so eye-opening to see the difference between the desert in Etosha and the paradise that the big rivers that we did boat cruises on (Kavango, Kwando and Chobe) provide for the wildlife. I am so glad we chose this particular itinerary, as we got to experience these very different habitats, and I would highly recommend going on the boat cruises, as each of these 3 rivers is so unique.

And capping the trip off at Victoria Falls for something completely different was the perfect ending to the trip of a lifetime.
This trip definitely exceeded our hopes and expectations!
We are looking forward to coming back in a few years to explore more of Namibia with Nature Travel Namibia and Stewart Matsopo!

Angel – Switzerland
An amazing African experience very well organized and executed by Nature Travel Namibia. Excellent guiding, transfers, hotels and communication in addition to efficient time management.

Karan – United States
Our first time in Namibia, and we had a wonderful experience with Nature Travel Namibia. NTN helped us customize our itinerary to our interests and very responsive throughout. They adjusted accommodations as per our budget and guided us on how to complete our trip in the 2 weeks we had. Our guide knew Namibia like the back of his hand and we learnt a lot about the region and its people. His enthusiasm for Namibia made our trip so much more enjoyable. We highly recommend Namibia for the beautiful landscapes and wildlife that you won’t find anywhere else. Lastly, we want to mention that we had a travel issue enroute, and Nature Travel Namibia went the extra mile to adjust our bookings and trip planning. We really appreciate how much they care about their clients and we wish our trip was longer 🙂

We enjoyed Sossusvlei the most. It’s beautiful at sunrise as the light changes. The view from the dunes is surreal. Another fantastic experience was Sandwich Harbour where the dunes meet the ocean. Namibia has no end to fantastic landscapes, and no visitor will be disappointed.

~Fabiola.
We had never traveled to anywhere in Africa but decided to check on safaris in southern Africa this January. We liked the 14-day safari itinerary listed online from Nature Travel Namibia and connected with Amber who was very helpful in the process, answering our many questions quickly and thoroughly.

Our family of 4 had an unforgettable 14-day private safari this June through Namibia (Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Twyfelfontein, Etosha, Caprivi) and Botswana (Chobe), ending at Victoria Falls. The information we received with the booking was very detailed, informative, and spot-on. Our guide and driver Wilson was wonderful: extremely knowledgeable and great to travel with.

We are glad we had him as a driver, rather than driving ourselves. This way we could relax and enjoy the landscape along the way and the animals during the drives. Plus we learned a lot about this beautiful part of Africa by chatting with him. We were glad we had the car/van for all the activities, since it was an enclosed vehicle (with a pop-up top) which kept us warm during chilly morning games drives. The lodges (mid-range) Amber had booked for us and the staff there were also gorgeous and the food was delicious. We came into this not knowing what to expect, hoping to see many animals, seeing this part of the world, and we came away having had an absolutely fantastic experience. This trip was worth every penny! Thank you to Nature Travel Namibia for arranging this for us!! We can highly recommend you.

Dave and Jo
We booked a 2 weeks tour of Namibia, specifically requesting at the time of booking, that we wished to do a private photography tour. We had no great expectations, only hoping that we would get value for money and at least be taken to places where we could get good photos.

Well, to say our expectations were exceeded beyond our imagination would be an understatement.
Our tour consultant, Petra, was very easy to communicate with via email and provided us with ample information in relation to the tour. We asked for a number of changes to the tour itinerary throughout the negotiation process, and she was only too willing to assist. Every email we sent requesting changes or information about the trip were promptly replied to by email and taken care of. The whole process of booking the tour was hassle free and smooth.

Our guide for the tour, “Buzzy” was not only very knowledgeable about photography and where to take us, his knowledge of flora and fauna in Namibia is beyond amazing. He took us to many amazing places and showed us many spectacular sights. He was able to point out different birds to us and give us good information about the birds, wildlife and plants and trees that we were seeing.

To top it off, he was also a great person, very friendly and easy to get along with. We had many laughs together which made the trip more enjoyable, if that was possible.

If you are looking for a great tour, whether it is general interest or something specific, like photography, then this company is definitely the one to go with.

I found Nature Travel Namibia recommended in the Rough Guide and, after reviewing their website, got in touch with them about our trip. From start to finish they were incredibly responsive, helpful and professional.

Whilst we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted to do, Petra really helped us hone the trip and offered some great adaptations to our plan, particularly the recommend for Jackalberry camp in the Caprivi Strip. She then handled all the booking and organisation of transport, accommodation and activities, both for Namibia and Botswana, following up with an extremely detailed itinerary document covering all possible information we could need.

Everything ran flawlessly at each stage of the trip – not one issue across a whole month, though even if there were I wouldn’t have been concerned, as Petra and her colleagues respond so swiftly to any query or contact.

A particular shout out goes to their choice of car rental company – Warthog 4×4. They were excellent, taking us through everything we might need to know about the vehicle in great detail, and making us feel utterly confident about heading out on our own. NTN clearly check their suppliers and people they recommend, which is of great reassurance too.

Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Indeed, I already recommended them to several people we met whilst on our trip! An excellent company providing great service.

Nature Travel is an excellent tour operator who helped us in organizing a self drive tour in Namibia. Thanks to Nature Travel our Namibian dream came true 🙂

They offer a multiple choice of accommodations and price ranges, the communication was smooth and clear since the beginning, the booking conditions have been clearly outlined and they provided a customized self-drive safari according to our request. The tour operator timely answered all our clarification requests and the tour was very well organized, in all details.

The self-drive safari tour included the vehicle rental – toyota fortuner 4×4, 2 spare tyres and GPS included in the price and car fully insured, it was in an excellent maintenance status and perfectly adequate for our journey.

In addition Nature Travel booked for us all the lodges, with breakfast always included and dinner as well in the most of the cases. The lodges are super nice and clean, with friendly and helpful staff, great accommodation.

At our arrival, we have been duly briefed about the vehicle use and the itinerary, we met a Nature Travel agent who explained us into details the whole itinerary, by giving us maps and written guidelines. Thanks to this our self drive safari was very easy, and we enjoyed a lot the whole experience.
We started the tour in Windhoek, then we visited Kalahari, Namib, Swakopmund, Skeleton coast, Damaraland, Etosha and Okonjima Natural reserve. it was an incredible trip!!

I am very satisfied of the service provided by Nature Travel Namibia and grateful for having organized everything so quickly (only 1 week before my departure)!
I really recommend NTN!

~Lucy & Bertie (United Kingdom).
We contacted Nature Travel Namibia initially to find some quotes for a safari. Allison was absolutely incredible, she was always quick to respond, provided a hugely in-depth itinerary. Together we then personalised to our requirements. Everything was organised and during our time there we didn’t need to worry about anything. It was high value for money – to keep the costs down we used a self drive option with a tent on the car, as it was an impromptu decision and we wanted to costs down. However there was such a range of accommodation that the company can tailor the trip to your needs!
We would highly recommend this company for an unforgettable experience!!

I recently spent 13 days traveling around Namibia with Nature Travel Namibia and guide extraordinaire Nick Buys. What an incredible adventure! Each day presented us new landscapes and wildlife. We traveled from Windhoek to Na’ankuse Animal Sanctuary to Etosha National Park to Damaraland and back to Windhoek. Traversing some 1600 km and staying at 5 different camps, this carefully laid out plan let us bear witness the diversity and amazement Namibia has to offer. Nick’s knowledge and experience put us into prime locations and situations to capture the wonders placed in front of us. What a life changing experience!!

~Stephen Barten.
I was part of a group of five wildlife photographers who toured Namibia for two weeks with Nature Travel Namibia. Having never been I didn’t know what to expect but my experience far exceeded my highest hopes, and I came home with far more experiences and “keeper” images than from any prior trip. It was my best trip ever, and I’ve done wildlife photography tours on 6 continents.

We stayed in four different lodges and they ranged from very nice to posh. I was especially impressed with and enjoyed Onguma Bush Camp and Mowani Mountain Camp. The menus were varied and delicious with good choices for all palates. We moved between lodges in Nature Travel Namibia’s spacious and comfortable van. Our game drives used the open trucks with three bench seats belonging to each lodge.

Our guide, Nick Buys, was fantastic. He’s a wildlife/conservation veterinarian who also is an experienced game tracker and birder. I’m convinced we saw twice as many animals and behaviors due to his direction than we would have done with another guide. He not only found numerous animals, but also predictedwhen they would move, where they would move, and positioned our vehicle so we could capture unique images when they did. He was a master at suggesting when to change locations and when to stay; we often sat while other tourists near us drove away, only to see dramatic animal action soon after.

Nature Travel Namibia took great care of us, from our airport pickup to our final airport return. All travel, meals, and lodging were arranged, but Nick also made changes on the fly as our schedule changed and in accordance with our goals. He booked extra game drives and activities whenever we had down time and made sure they were private rather than group ones. He made sure our meals were available when we got back late. He even arranged for veterinarians in our group to observe a cheetah immobilization and health assessment at a wildlife sanctuary. Nick is truly a wildlife expert and fountain of knowledge. He was friendly, funny, and interesting, and a great companion. He meshed with our group as if he was an original member.
Our trip exceeded every expectation. I would book another trip with Nature Travel Namibia in a heartbeat and hope to do so again soon.

~Crispin & Alison.
My wife and I just came back from a fabulous 2 week tour of Namibia, courtesy of Nature Travel Namibia (NTN). In short, the entire trip was even better than we had hoped, from planning through execution. As far as planning goes… from an initial conversation in July, our trip was planned in August and we travelled end Sept / early Oct. NTN did a great job working with us on all the details, and tailoring a trip to meet our needs.

The plan NTN provided included literally everything – not just an itinerary but all the transfers, excursions, safari drives, accommodations and meals. The execution was even better than the planning. On arrival in Windhoek, Lucky, our guide for the trip came to meet us. Lucky is an exceptional guide – he is passionate about animals & Namibia and made sure our trip was enjoyable throughout. He was also a fascinating travel companion – our conversations ranged from regional history & culture to world affairs. Finally, he lived up to his name – we had exceptional wildlife spotting in the 5 days we spent in Etosha (although in reality it wasn’t simply good fortune – Lucky deployed all his experience & planning to make sure we found the animals). So overall a 5 star experience for us… and we are planning a return trip with our son to fit in the bits we missed!

Edward Mikol
As a photographer I explored multiple locations with Nick through Nature Travel Namibia. He has an exceptional understanding of the “lay of the land” and the nuances of this beautiful country with it’s remarkably varied terrain. You will have excellent photographic opportunities as Nick knows where to find the wildlife and can often predict their behavior. If you need an animal identified…he’s on it. A truly professional guide intimately familiar the flora and fauna. Go to Namibia!

When we finally decided to pursue an ultimate trip on our bucket list, Namibia, as a result of a small family inheritance.

We contacted several Tour and Game Drive operators covering Namibia. We provided them all with a detailed brief as to what we wanted for this trip based on our numerous years of experience with safaris in Kruger, Botswana, Zambia, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Uganda etc.

We subsequently received a couple of positive replies but Nature Travel Namibia through Nicolette Muller, seemed to be the very best at understanding our requirements and tailored a 16 day trip accordingly, which other companies seemed to miss.

Consequently we decided to go with Nature Travel Namibia and they then adjusted plus tweaked the itinerary to meet our exact requirements.
We did in fact ask for their best Guide/Driver. What we got was an absolutely fantastic 16 day trip far surpassing our expectations and the Guide/Driver (Marc Cronje) was nothing short of superb, almost a walking encyclopaedia on wildlife and nature.

In short without doubt the best African Safari trip we have ever had since 2001.
Not sure what else we can say except Nature Travel Namibia is by far our ultimate choice for any future trips and would 100% recommend them to anybody.

~Rachel
Had a last minute work trip to Namibia, and was lucky enough to have Nature Travel Namibia arrange a tailor-made trip that fit into my limited travel time, with very short notice. Had a fantastic time, my tour guide was incredible and very knowledgeable and can thoroughly recommend Nature Travel Namibia.

~Kristen.
A veterinarian and conservationist, Nick Buys is a consummate professional. He delivers outstanding customer service, responds quickly yet thoroughly to communication and is incredibly knowledgeable. He listens to your birding “wish list,” tailors the itinerary based on those goals and delivers results. Nick is personable and has an amazing sense of humor. After a day birding with Nick, you feel like family. I highly recommend Nature Travel Namibia and look forward to birding with Nick and his team in the future.

~Janeen Hernan, Hobe Sound, Florida USA.
Over the last nine years I have traveled with Nature Travel Namibia and Nature Travel Africa four times. My recent journey to Namibia, again, exceeded my expectations. The trip was well planned with attention to detail from a packing list to dining tables with a view. Travel during this time of covid adds a layer of concern, but Nature Travel answered all our questions, kept us informed, and arranged necessary testing.

Our guide and driver Nick Buys has an uncanny ability to identify wildlife from extreme distances. Nick says it is not necessarily due to keen eyesight, even though that helps, but by recognizing shape, color, movement and location. Highlights included: a journey far into the Skeleton Coast where we were able to view the desert elephant, and sitting at a watering hole in Etosha National Park at night and hearing the roar of a lion, realizing not only that it was close but how powerful an animal it is. Most of all we had “fun”.

Even after multiple trips to Africa, I feel it is still full of adventure, just waiting for me. I highly recommend Nature Travel and will use them again to wander and explore Africa. A special thank you to Nick Buys, Nicolette Muller, and all the staff.

~S Trivedi.
Nature Travel Namibia is a world-class tour operator that provided excellent value for the money spent. Nicolette, our tour organizer was excellent and responsive. While in the USA I got responses within time zone differences, while in Namibia, responses were in real-time, and believe me you will need real-time support when your airline changes flights at apparently random times when you do not have Internet access or things happen beyond your control (provide your booking login details to Nicolette). Nicolette’s response was the main reason for me choosing Nature Travel Namibia, but it just got better from there. My guide and driver Marc Cronje was outstanding; he was friendly, very knowledgeable, and flexible; the hours spent in the car with Marc were filled with interesting discussions and an informal discourse on birds (by the way Namibia has some amazing birds).

The tour was customized for me as a single traveler, another feather in Nature Travel Namibia’s cap (in fact it is a group of companies that does bird watching – Nature Travel Birding, NT Kruger, NT Africa, etc.). One of my requirements was to visit dark sky locations, since Namibia has one of the darkest night skies in the world; consequently, the first several nights were catered to dark sky and Southern Milkyway viewing in Keetmanshoop, Sossuss Dune Lodge, and Star Dune Camp. I was told that Nicolette has personally visited the lodges she recommends, which is a huge plus. The accommodations (I chose mid-range) as chosen by Nicolette were outstanding.

I spent 16 days in Namibia, and this was my second trip to African in two decades, and I was totally blown away by the experience and the efficiency of the tour operator. In summary if you are looking for a tour operator to visit Namibia (or Kruger in South Africa, or for birdwatching anywhere in the world), without reservations

I highly recommend Nature Travel Namibia. I did go in time of the COVID situation, and though Namibia is on the USA travel.gov “do not travel list”, it is safer than many cities in the USA; all individuals everywhere in Namibia use masks and hand sanitizers and the population density is much lower than any of the major metros in USA. As a final disclaimer: I was neither paid nor coerced into writing this review, and the words are all my own. Hope you enjoy your upcoming trip wherever it may take you. Cheers!

This was my first trip to Africa let alone Namibia. My main focus for the trip was to see as many bird species in Namibia as possible. After researching for a good guide that I thought would be a good fit, I chose Nature Travel Namibia (NTN) mainly due to my talks with owner Nick Buys. His attentiveness and quick thorough responses to my many questions made the decision easy. I never use guides or tour companies for my travels so this was going to be new for me.

I am usually the guide or part of a team that is showing clients the places I go, which means I know what to look for in a good guide. With Africa being a new continent and with the Covid landscape I decided this would be the best way to be safe, healthy, and see the most on my trip. Nick made it happen on all points. Never was I worried that he did not have my best interests in mind and did all he could to make them happen. It was just him and me for 14 days on the road.

During the time I learned a lot about him and his passion for Namibia, wildlife, and touring. He is dedicated on all fronts. Initially I set a lofty goal of 350 species as a goal for the trip. He planned out a route that would bring us across many of the unique habitats in Namibia from the City of Windhoek to the North and Northeast of the country.

This area covered the various scrubland, acacia, grassland, desert, mountain, riparian, marshland, flood plain, coastal, and dune habitats of the area. This gave us the best chance to focus on the near-endemic and endemic species as well as have good chances to pick up the Southern Africa species as well. Obviously, this plan worked and was exceeded. Having both of us totally motivated 24 hours a day helped as well. We worked very well together. After a couple days we had definitely gotten to understand each other and communication was easy.

Nick has been involved in the landscapes of Namibia since a young age and his family took part in many camping trips to many of the game parks growing up giving a lot of field knowledge. He is a veterinarian as well working with various agencies on tagging, relocation, and other operations with big game. It was apparent that he knows the animals well and how they will respond and what to look for when around them. Mainly to make sure they are not nervous or feel threatened and when we should be quiet or move on even if the scene is breathtaking. Animals first. I appreciated that as I have the same values.

~Gillian Ainslie, Cape Town, South Africa.
I heard about Nature Travel Namibia and Nature Travel Birding through a presentation at the African Bird Fair organised by Birdlife South Africa in August 2020 by Zoom. As I had some funds available from a cancelled international trip in 2020, and no likelihood of other international travel in 2021, I took the opportunity to use the money to indulge my recent passion for birding. Birding friends recommended Namibia as a great birding destination and, after sending an inquiring email to Nick Buys of Nature Travel Namibia, I got immediate information about all the options available and suggestions for the best itinerary.

The trip was organised by Nick via multiple emails and one phone call. All my queries were answered fully & promptly, allowing me to make all the decisions necessary to plan a dream trip, despite the nightmare logistics of international travel in the Covid-19 era.

Marc Cronje was my guide and he looked after me wonderfully, from meeting me at the airport in Windhoek and travelling onwards for 12 days. We drove to Rundu in the Caprivi Strip, then through Mahangu, across the border to the Okavango Panhandle in Botswana (including fabulous birding boat trip), back into Namibia for a further couple of days at wonderful Mahangu National Park (and yet another great boat trip), then 2-3 days in Etosha National Park, and then a day each at the Brandberg in Damaraland, the Erongo Mountains, Swakopmund & Walvis Bay and then back to Windhoek. Namibia is fabulous with great scenery, people, game and, most importantly for me, birds.

Marc was an excellent guide: very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all birds, wildlife and photography. He knew exactly which spots to go to find all the various bird species, allowing me to see almost all the targets we were looking for. I saw 270 different bird species over the trip (including many many “lifers”) and over 30 other animal species, with plenty of time to get good observations and photos. He was a careful driver and liaised very well with lodge staff, park staff and border officials. In addition, he was really great company and also very patient and helpful with a relative novice both as regards birding and photography. He even managed to fix my camera after I damaged it early on, and thus salvaged an important component of the trip for me. The lodges and food were good, particularly the Erongo Wild and the Mahangu Safari Lodge.

I have recommended Nature Travel Namibia & Nature Travel Birding highly to many friends and hope to use them again myself for any future visits to Namibia or other parts of Africa.

~Dorothy C
This was my second trip to Africa with Nick Buys and the travel team at Nature Travel Namibia. The experience to say the least was amazing. We had many request and questions prior to our safari and all were answered and taken care of in a timely and professional manner. One of the many highlights was hanging on edge of Victoria Falls in the Devil’s Pool. Also the beautiful sunsets on our river cruise in Chobe National Park with 100’s of animals in view. I even caught a 18 pound cat fish in the rivers of Caprivi Strip in Namibia. These were just a few highlight all arranged by Nature Travel Namibia. I highly recommend Nature Travel Namibia for any of your travel plans to Africa.

~Sam.
I have been on two Nature Travel Namibia tours, and I am convinced they are the best in the business. Last year, I contacted Nick Buys, the founder of Nature Travel Namibia and told him exactly what I hoped to do and he created an itinerary specifically designed to my desires that far exceeded my expectations. Nick and his entire team were so professional and easy to work with, and they gave me the adventure of a lifetime camping in the Caprivi Strip.

Traveling with Nick was like getting shown around a new part of the world with an old friend who knows everything about the place. I could have spent months in the Caprivi and never found some of the off-the-beaten-track places Nick took us straight to. Nick is so knowledgeable about African wildlife, and he is an especially talented ornithologist. I will never forget the eight days I spent with Nick in the Caprivi Strip for as long as I live. The NTN team is passionate about conservation, so this trip is sure to provide both an unforgettable adventure, as well as a great way to do your part to protect African wildlife.

~Liz
In June 2019, I was lucky enough to travel with Nature Travel Namibia on their Save the Rhino walking safari. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and excellent in every way hence the 5 star review. It was everything I’d hoped it would be and more. Nick, our leader, was professional, hugely knowledgable, fun and passionate about Namibia and its wildlife and he had a great back up team who took care of the driving and all the camp arrangements. Seeing rhinos up close when you are out walking was amazing and tracking them was both exciting and a little nerve-wracking! We saw at first hand the wonderful work which is being done on rhino conservation in Namibia. Take a tour with Nature Travel Namibia and I’m sure you’ll have a fabulous time.

Jandeb
Nature Travel Namibia organized a fabulous 11 day tour for us which was exactly what we wanted. Our guide, Lucky, was outstanding, being knowledgeable, open, flexible and with a great sense of humour. He made the safari very special. There is so much to see in Namibia! Enjoy!

~The Palmers
Our self drive trip with Nature Travel Namibia in March was planned to perfection starting and ending in Windhoek. Every Lodge had its own unique character. Cleanliness, service and friendliness amazing. Our various guides along the route were outstanding in their knowledge of their particular subject, from finding geckos and scorpions in the desserts of Swakopmund to Lion , Cheetah and Rhino in Etosha. Nick and his team were always just a phone call away and were there for support when the cover virus struck. Can’t thank them enough.

A Wonderful Introduction to Africa
~POjana.
In Feb-March of 2020 I made the plunge, fulfilled my life long dream, and went to Africa, specifically Zambia, Botswana and Namibia. Nature Travel Namibia handled the tour, and I couldn’t have been happier. Marc and Charyl were excellent leaders. On the one hand they were professional and no-nonsense which made me (as a solo female traveler) feel protected.

On the other hand they both had a light and humorous side which gave us all some good laughs and a fun time. But the thing that really made the trip was their incredible knowledge of the areas we traveled. This trip focused on birding, and they bent over backwards to make sure we saw our “target” birds….and some beauties there were at that!!!

For people who go on a mammal-oriented safari, the birds may not be that important, but for birders, the beauty and wonder of birds is a total “high”, plus birders are also super interested in the mammals. Both Marc and Charyl were highly knowledgeable about the ecology of the areas we visited and the behavior of the birds/animals. They well also well informed about the human activities of the area and even the geology! I saw and learned so much! All those other things on my bucket list have now evaporated. Next trip – back to Africa, hopefully on a different trip with Nature Travel Namibia!

 Fantastic Trip
Sarah (United Kingdom): February 2020
Planning and support from San-Mari prior to the trip was outstanding. The plan included everything we wanted but the actual trip exceeded our expectations. Our guide Marius was brilliant; knowledgeable, fun, worked hard to find some amazing animal sightings and drove like a pro. The Living Desert Tour with Chantelle was oustanding. Lodges were very good and food plentiful!
We would always use Nature Travel Namibia for any future visits and recommend them highly.

Excellent Guided Safari in Etosha
Susan & Andy: February 2020
We chose Nature Travel Namibia due to their high ranking and we were not disappointed. Our tour was 4 nights in Etosha + 2 nights in Swakopmund. Our excellent guide, Marius Siemens, was highly experienced and always able to answer any questions we had. He brought us to those special spots where his experience indicated animals would be in the vicinity. We saw : Elephants, Rhinos, Lions, Cheetahs, Oryx, Giraffe, Wildebeeste, Springbok, Hyena and more. Highly recommended. Many thanks Marius.

Wonderful Family holiday around Namibia
Geraldo: December 2019
We had one week for a safari around Namibia, with kids. The country have astonishing landscapes with a wide range of scenarios from deserts to the magnificent Etosha National Park. The itinerary and lodges chosen by Nature Travel Namibia got the proper spirit of a safari with kids. They have been so careful and dedicated to what we needed and wanted while tailoring the itinerary!

We would like to thank the whole team and specially ou guide – Marc Cronje, that was always kind and adventurous with our daughters, and showcased solid knowledge of wild life behavior, land and safety. Always keeping the whole family curious and talking in a way that we could clearly understand the details of the land and animals we got the chance to see.
Thanks taking our family on a adventure of a lifetime, Marc and Nature Travel Namibia!

Outstanding safari in Namibia!
Annsofie and Lena: November 2019
We are two travellerfriends who decided to go for a safari/round-trip in Namibia.
We were scanning the Internet to find the perfect tourcompany, and after talking to many companies we finally found them: Nature travel Namibia! Our contact there, Nicolette, was so helpful and the service and information she provided was incredible. We are so impressed! Of course our expectations built up to a very high level. The outcome of the safari was way over our expectations!
Our safari, a private guided 8-day Namibia Classic safari, was guided by our superfantastic driving guide, mr Marius Siemens. Marius made our safari to a “12 points out of 10”!

We travelled from Windhoek through the Namib desert and the mighty dunes. West to the coast to flamingos and seals around Swakopmund, through Damaraland and on to Etosha for 3 days wildlife safari. It was so amazing! We got to see so many animals at a so close range!! Marius knew all the right spots to go at the rihgt time!We cannot thank Marius and Nicolette enough for this outstanding holiday – we will be back for sure!
We really would recomend other travellers to book a safari with this tour-company!!
We have both been travelling around the world for over 20 years now, and this one is geting a top ranking! Thank you so much, Nicolette and Marius for an unforgetible experience!

Review of Fantastic NBZ Private Nature/Birding Tour Led by Cronje of Nature Birding Travel
David and Deborah: December 2018
This is a belated review of a private 14 day nature trip of Northern Namibia in December 2018 that was led by Marc Cronje of Nature Birding Travel, who served as our superlative and indefatigable host, guide, driver, fixer and companion throughout.Beginning with an airport pick-up at Livingstone in Southern Zambia, the tour encompassed a brief stop in Zimbabwe to visit Victoria Falls; two days in Zambia to bird the Zambezi River; two days in Botswana to bird the Zambezi floodplains and Okavango River, and the remainder of the time in Namibia, with a route that took us through the Okavango to Etosha for 4 days; a day in the spectacular, other-worldly Damaraland region; two days in the Erongo Mountains, where we stayed at the amazing Erongo Widerness Lodge; and a final morning of coastal birding in Walvis Bay.

We are experienced, well-travelled birders with an equally strong interest in all other forms of wildlife, as well as in natural landscapes and ecosystems, so our hope for this tour — which was fully realized — was to experience a wide range of Southern African flora, fauna and avian life at an unhurried pace that would allow for full immersion. As this is a review rather than a trip report, we do not provide here a detailed account of species sighted, but the birding and wildlife experience was richly rewarding and exceeded expectations, with nearly 350 species of birds sighted, 40 species of mammals (including no fewer than ten separate encounters with lions), and one exciting sighting of a Black Mamba on the first morning of the trip.

The itinerary of the trip was exceptionally well designed, with consideration given to keeping daily travel distances manageable in order to allow time for leisurely enjoyment of all wildlife. The well-chosen lodges were (other than in Etosha NP) small, privately run establishments with individual character and charm, allowing for varied experiences while delivering a uniformly high standard of service.

Marc Cronje proved to be a world-class guide, whose deep knowledge and appreciation of wildlife, landscape, and birds is matched by his superb wildlife spotting and identification skills and by his infectious enthusiasm and passion for his job. He worked tirelessly on our behalf, from first light until night fall, and even then he was always eager to go owling.

Beyond his skills as a nature guide, Marc is a great communicator with a robust sense of humor. His patience, politeness and respect for others was a pleasure to behold and a real asset when dealing with border officials, a necessity on a trip that encompassed four countries.

We could not recommend Marc and Nature Birding Travel more highly and look forward to arranging our next nature safari adventure with him.

Zambia, Caprivi and Chobe Birding Safari with Nick Buys
S & F – October 2019
This birds and mammals trip in Southern Africa was our second trip with Nick Buys. We have been already with him in Namibia 4 years ago in a very succesfull trip.We visited South of Zambia (Nkanga River Conservation Area, South Kafue and Livingstone surroundings), the Caprivi Strip (Kwando River and Mahango Game Reserve) and Northern Botswana (Okavango Panhandle and northern Chobe). The places we visited were wonderfull. We felt the privilege to be the only ones in the middle of the bush and his fauna in the very preserved Nanzhila Plains-Kafue National Park. We had excellent boat trips on Zambezi, Chobe, Okavango and Kwando Rivers. Sunsets were stunning !
We stayed in very comfortable and peacefull lodgings were we could appreciate the magic of wild Africa. This trip was focused on a list of possible life’s firsts, for both birds and mammals. The lists was not so long, as we already have been in various trips in eastern and southern Africa. It consisted most of all in specialities and endemics, as Black-cheeked Lovebird, Schalow’s Turaco, Pel’s Fishing-owl, Bradfield’s Hornbill, Chaplin’s Barbet, African Broadbill, Miombo Tit, Copper Sunbird, Black-eared Seed-eater…

We managed to see more than 300 bird species, and almost all the possible species on our list that occurs in the area.
We only failed for 3 species of Miombo forest, certainly because of the severe drought that occured this year. Actually forests were very quite, and Nick had to work hard to find us some dificult birds in that conditions. On the other hand, and certainly because of the drought, this trip was very successful for small raptors as African Cuckoo-hawk, Lizard Buzzard, Western Banded Snake Eagle, African Goshawk, Ovambo Sparrowhawk, Little Sparrohawk, Eurasian Hobby, Dickinson’s Kestrel… We had excellent sightings of a Lanner hunting a Cape Turtle Dove, a Dickinson’s Kestrel drinking at a water hole and a pair of Little Sparrohawks breeding.

Mammals sightings were also great, with 45 species.
The best was the day spent with a troup of 21 Wild Dogs in Kafue (10 adults and 11 puppies) : they spent the day lying and playing at the side of a water hole in the company of many herbivores (surprisingly very relaxed) and birds who came to drink, including Black-cheeked Lovebirds. At the end of the afternoon, we could follow them one hour hunting in the bush. At the end, we didn’t see them catching anything, but a pair of breeding leopards managed to catch an impala that was running away from the Wild Dogs !
Thanks to some night drives and night walks, we also had a good selection of nocturnal mammals, with 2 species of Galago, Common Genet, African Civet, Bush Pig, South African Porcupine…

We want to thank Nick warmly for this trip. Again we really appreciated his qualities as a guide, his professionalism, his excellent knowings in the species and the habitats, his sens of respect of nature, his organisation, his patience and his excellent sense of humor.
We hope to come back soon in Africa for another such succesfull trip with him.

Great Birding Tour!
GBannk: October 2019
This morning the four of us went on a half day birding tour at Avis Dam with Nature Travel Namibia. Previous, our guide, was outstanding. He was well prepared and very knowledgeable. He waited to make sure we each saw the bird, asked if we were okay, didn’t rush and did his best to show us a photograph of the bird. I highly recommend Previous. Everything you could hope for!
Katleen: September 2019
We recently went on a 3-week self-drive tour that was completely organized by Nature Travel Namibia. They booked us a 4×4 rental car with rooftop tents as well as all of our accommodations and some of the activities. Everything was organized exactly as we wanted, and we had no unpleasant surprises during our trip. Just the holiday you would hope for, nice and relaxing but also full of wonderful activities to enjoy the wildlife and landscapes to the fullest. Communication with Nature Travel prior to the trip all went very smooth, they are very friendly and helpful and always eager to assist you in any way possible. The tour itself was wonderful, we absolutely loved Namibia and will certainly be coming back! We will definitely book via Nature Travel again, so highly recommendable!

Personalised Namibia-tour – big dream came true and even more
Susanna and Markku: September 2019
We just game back to Finland from our two weeks Namibia-tour. This has been our dream for a long time and now: wow… just wow-wow-wow. We could tell so much about everything we have experienced and enjoyed and how wonderful everything was. But… we say: perfect in every way. We do not know, how something could have been better. We can not thank enough Nicolette, who was so helpful and kind in advance and made all reservations and listened our changes and wishes and made every of them possible! Such a perfect personalised service, and how in earth she can be so fast!

And Marc, our guide. Ten points in expertise about nature, animals, history etc. Ten points in making our holiday so easy and relaxing. Ten points in taking care of us and our needs. Ten points in exceeding our hopes and dreams. Ten points in beeing just a wonderful person and part of our holiday, not just a guide. And ten points in listening to finnish sense of humour… Nicolette and Marc really made our dream come true, and even more. Now we are not dreaming of a white christmas, but we are dreaming of a new trip/holiday with help of Nicolette, Marc and Nature Travel Namibia.

Nick our Guide put our Safari together it was top notch in all aspects of the safari.
Ed C – August 2019
It was very easy to communicate via email with Nick on any Questions we had. I was traveling with my wife and 4 friends and all communications that they had with Nick were answered via email promptly.E

very place we went to on the Safari was excellent, in viewing the animals, the lodgings that he had set up for us. The service staff at all the locations we visited were very friendly and went out of their way to make our vacation wonderful. All of us in our group have agreed that Nature Travel Namibia was the best for our safari trip from start to finish.

Absolutely amazing Namibia/ Botswana safari adventure.
Karen J – August 2019
We’ve just finished a 15 day Namibia / Botswana Safari, ending with a visit to Victoria Falls and it was amazing! Our guide Marc Cronje, with his vast knowledge and experience, made every sighting exciting, no matter what we were looking at, and got us some exceptional (and sometimes unexpected) spectacles, including Honey Badgers digging for food whilst a number of Pale Chanting Goshawks stood by waiting to steal their prey and a family of Bat-eared foxes roaming around under the early evening sun. Marc worked tirelessly throughout the trip, his enthusiasm never waning, nothing was too much trouble, a thoughtful and caring guide. NTN organised beautiful lodges and accommodation, a surprise highlight being 2 days camping which we would definitely do again. To say we had a great time was an understatement, we are already thinking about saving for our next trip with them!

Lucas – July 2019
Me and my boyfriend had never gone to Namibia or any other country in the southern part of Africa. We were a little bit worried, specially about hiring an agency we had never used before (not even heard about, as in Brazil people don’t usually go to African countries other than South Africa). However, since the beginning of our contact with Nature Travel (many thanks here to San-Mari, who was always kind and helpful), we were very well supported in every single thing we asked: general overview of the places we would visit, details about other options, how much time to spend, price targets, etc.

One of the most amazing things about Nature Travel was that, even though the trip was being planned for us, when we had an idea that didn’t seem very well for them (fox example: too much time in a place, too many distant places, etc.), they would tell us the truth and argue with us (in a nice manner, obviously) why we shouldn’t do that. They really cared about what would be best for us!

With all that being said, we cannot say another thing than that we had a wonderful time in Namibia: it was certainly a trip that we’ll never forget. We would like to thank the whole Nature Travel team for their assistance, specially San Mari and Marius. The latter was our guide throughout our trip and we REALLY had a wonderful time with him. All his knowledge, kindness, professionalism and good humor contributed a lot to make our trip as incredibly unforgettable as it was. He was always trying to read what would be best for us. We could see that the thing he wanted the most was to give us the best experience possible. We will definitely continue planning trips with Nature Travel and recommend them to all our friend and family!!

Good contact and professional service
Angelo – July 2019
We booked lodges, cars and activities and everything work out fine.  Communication was very good and welcome at the airport perfect.
Nicolette and all the staff were very accurate and professional.I really recommend their services. Fantastic holiday
Caprice – June 2019
From the beginning of our booking this safari, Nature Travel Namibia have been wonderful. All the help and suggestions for booking transfers and extra activities etc from the office staff, to our wonderful tour guide, nothing was too much trouble.

One of our best journeys EVER!
Robert and Esther – June 2019
All trips all multifaceted and rarely does everything goes right. However, somehow Nature Travel Namibia manages to provide a service that is flawless and beyond memorable. Their selection of accommodation was superb, their suggestions for itinerary were excellent, their attention to detail unequal, and when there were issues beyond their control, they made every effort to resolve them expeditiously. This has been one of the best trips of our lives. We were five people on a self-drive but the support from Nature Travel Namibia was always there. Namibia itself is amazing, for the range and scope of experience, from landscape to safari, cuisine, and some of the most gentle and hospitable people you will meet anywhere. And the example of racial harmony in Namibia is inspiring to see and provides a lesson for all of us and a beacon for Africa. Without doubt we will return and it will be with Nature Travel Namibia.

Our private tour took us through astounding desert scenery, to the tops of unimaginable dunes and to sightings of incredible wildlife at fabulous watering holes. We started with a visit to the incredible dunes of Sossusvlei. Our guide Charl ensured we got to them in time to photograph them in the best morning light possible.

Climbing to the top was a wonderful experience as was wandering among the 900 year old trees on the salt flat. From there it was off to Swakopmund and a safari to look for the little five in the adjacent Namibia Desert. Our local guide Chantal, was amazing with her knowledge and ability to track the tiny creatures – from the Sidewinder snake to the Palmetto lizard. Our flight, arranged for by Nick, over the Namib Desert was truly amazing. To see the dunes from the air reinforced our great decision to have seen and climbed them.

The final part of our experience with Charl and Nature Travel Namibia was the safari in Etosha Park. We saw an amazing array of animals – from lions and elephants at a watering hole to an impala staring down and challenging a leopard to chase him. The leopard didn’t! We enjoyed mostly excellent accommodation throughout the trip along with very good meals.

Charl was an incredible wealth of knowledge and willingly shared that knowledge. We all felt very comfortable and safe while he was driving – which was quite a lot. The distances we had to travel over gravel roads was the only downside, although unavoidable, of the trip. Thanks again for a terrific trip. We can’t recommend Nick, Charl and Nature Travel Namibia enough. Namibia Endemics Birding Tour
Having birded around the world I can confidently say that Nature Travel Namibia put together one of the best safaris I have ever enjoyed. Everything was perfect – the pre-trip information, the organization, the quality of the accommodation and food, but most of all the professionalism and friendliness of the guide Marc who managed to find nearly every one of the specials that I’d gone to see. Will definitely use them again.

“A fantastic introduction to Namibia”
Raji- April 2019
My husband and I went on a 12 day tour of Namibia covering Erindi private game reserve, Etosha, Damaraland, Swakopmund and Sossusvlei. From the start, I was impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness of our contact San-Mari. The trip was a fantastic introduction to Namibia especially due to our guide, Lucky who was knowledgeable, resourceful and friendly. He made the trip a memorable one for us. We will definitely go back to Namibia with NTN again.

“More than a Safari!”
Heather- Canada: February 2019
Nature Travel Namibia was very fast and responsive to any questions we had.
We had a wonderful guide and driver named Previous. He had 15 years experience guiding in Namibia and 2 years in Etosha game park. He also has a degree in wildlife management and is a big birder! He was also a lot of fun! We had our own 4×4 with AC and did the 8 day Classic.
We have lived in Africa and been on many safaris but this one was special. We had not been to Namibia before and so depended on NTN for advice. They suggested the big red sand dunes of Sussevlei, which were an amazing sight. We went early in the morning to climb one at sunrise. We stayed in beautiful game lodges. Then we drove to the Atlantic coast and saw shipwrecks, seals and rock carvings. We went on a desert tour of the little five which was so fun!
The tour ended with 3 days in Etosha game park. Because Previous had worked there he knew all the spots to go to and where the animals would be. People say you can self drive and you can but we would not have seen or understood what we saw. we also had a flat tire which he fixed. we saw others stuck in the sand. Did you know you have to let the tire pressure out in sand? Nope? Me either.
We highly recommend Nature Travel Namibia!

“Excellent service from start to finish”
M Stanley: February 2019
From the moment I first made the enquiry with Nature Travel Namibia, nothing was too much trouble. I think we revised our itinerary about 6 times but Esmari was happy to accommodate and advise on destinations and activities. We also kept them waiting until the last minute to confirm such are the vagaries of our situation with staff travel but regardless we got exactly the holiday we wanted. Jakes was our travel guide for the 2 weeks and was totally fantastic. When we travelled around Etosha he was a mine of knowledge on the birds and animals and able to spot them at 100 meters – without Jakes I don’t think we would have seen half of what we did given the time of year and vegetation.
I can’t recommend Nature Travel Namibia enough.

Namibia, Botswana and Zambia Birding Safari
Liz – November 2018
Nick takes care of every angle of a birding safari from the areas visited to the lodges we stayed in.
Nick communicated by email and sent an itinerary of the places we would visit and the lodges we would stay in. (That way we could look up the lodges ahead of time). I had birded with Nick before so I knew he would take care of all the details. The lodges were great-usually by a river or waterhole.
I was very excited when one night a hippo came up beside our tent to eat!
Nick will stop whenever you want to take pictures. That was great. Everybody had a window seat as he only takes six people on a tour.
Everything was great.

“Amazing experience and service”
Mary – 22 September 2018
We had a wonderful time. The entire trip was very enjoyable and interesting. Namibia is a stunning place, Lucky was a fantastic guide; very knowledgeable, an amazing spotter of all types of animals and great company.
We were particularly grateful because SAA caused a missed connection at Johannesburg and our rebooked flight the next morning was cancelled. Nature Namibia’s communication with us throughout, not only this setback but from start to finish was excellent and Lucky went above and beyond what could reasonably be expected when we finally arrived, by driving late into the night to get us to our first destination to try and get us back on track with our safari – excellent service, thank you.

“Classic Namibia Safari”
Joe Poon – September 2018
Our representative from Nature Travel Namibia (hereafter NTN) is excellently professional. She continuously communicates with us on refining the itinerary and bookings, at the same time arrange our places of visits according to the tightly available lodges. Even during our trip when she is away on annual leave, another representative was assigned to us so we can contact her any time for any questions. 5-star service.
Lodges choices are marvellous too. Except due to very limited availability for all other lodges for one particular night, all lodges we stayed were specially themed with well equipped facilities and delicious food. Even on that particular night when we stay in a simple camp, it was also a valuable experience. As it was our honeymoon trip, NTN has informed all the lodges and tour operators and each and every single one of them have prepared special arrangements to help us celebrate this special occasion.
Vehicle they provided us function very well too. A manual 4X4 that can go through all kinds of road condition in Namibia, with only 3000+ km usage, I practically doubled it after the trip. A little problem is with the GPS, which directed us twice away from main road but through non-existing routes through the wild, but at least we were able to continue.
I definitely recommend NTN to anyone who are considering travel to Namibia, you won’t regret engaging them.

“Utterly fabulous trip!”
Anna .
I expected to love traveling in Namibia, but our 9-day tour with Nature Travel totally surpassed my expectations! Namibia is stunningly gorgeous and I can imagine no better way to experience the country than the trip that Nature Travel prepared for us.

We went to all the spots a first-time visitor would want to see from the red dunes in Sossusvlei, to Swakopmund, to Etosha with many stops in between. The lodges were all lovely and the countryside you drive through is unending beauty. But what made the trip so special was having the best guide imaginable–Previous Tsvigu.

Not only had he spent years working in the parks and in conservation, but he is also a passionate birder. So he knew the birds and animals in a way that brought the experience to life. He could easily identify all the birds we encountered, and had an incredible eye for spotting them. In Etosha, his intimate knowledge of the animals and their habits helped him to predict where they would be and when they would move, so he was able to place us in the best spots for viewing them. He was also deeply knowledgeable about Namibian history and culture and always generous with his knowledge. And he had a ready smile and laugh. We would not have seen half so much without him, even visiting the same places.
From initial contact and trip preparations through to the day we left, Nature Travel could not have been more attentive and professional. Thank you for an utterly fabulous trip!

Lawrence B – August 2018
They are excellent to work with and I can’t wait to use them again.
Nick Buys and his colleagues were extremely attentive to all of my requests and they put together a 3 week Luxury multi-country Safari that became an unforgettable experience. They were consistently flexible and accommodated all of my last minute requests and changes. They were also excellent at troubleshooting and solving problems as they arose. This was my 5th trip to Africa and Nature Travel is, by far, the best Travel Guide I have ever worked with. I will certainly use them again in the future.

Christopher Sexon – July 2018
From the start to the end we were given outstanding service.
I have just returned from a two week self drive Safari in Namibia along with some friends which was organised by Esmari at Nature Travel Namibia. What an incredible experience! Our accommodation was outstanding, the food excellent and the vehicle we were given brilliant. The trip exceeded our expectations and I cannot recommend the company highly enough. Simply brilliant!

“Safaris in Botswana and Namibi”
~Susan and Mark A.
We had the delightful experience of booking 2 separate safaris with Nature Travel Namibia. We spent 6 days in Botswana and a week in Namibia. The trip was almost seamless, with complex transfers by van, small planes to Okavango Delta locations, and truck safaris to remote places all mixed into one trip.

Nicolette Muller was our liaison for the planning and she always responded in a very timely manner to our thoughts, ideas and logistics planning between the United States and Africa. We particularly appreciated her “paring down” of our ambitious itinerary for both Botswana and Namibia given our time constraints! All the staff and guides at the lodges and tented camps were professional, kind and paid much attention to the details. We can easily give a particular shout out t

We had one particular experience where we were worn out after a long day’s drive and wanted to rest at the lodge, but Previous felt we needed to see the desert-adapted elephants in Damaraland. We knew that tracking down these animals was hit or miss, so we told him to go it alone, and come back to retrieve us if he found them. Sure enough, he raced out to the sight, found three elephants, and raced back to grab us for what turned out to be a lovely sighting of grazing elephants and a wonderful sundowner experience of the grasslands on the hood of our truck!

These kinds of attention to detail are what separates this travel company from the masses. They are smaller and truly care for their clients’ welfare and experience. The variety of experiences and things we requested (mokaro boat rides) are not always easy to find. Thanks again to Nature Travel Namibia which we can wholeheartedly recommend!

“Fantastic and professional travel company”
Stephanie Ranson.
From start to finish Nature Travel Namibia were fantastic, and we had an amazing holiday. As a family holiday with 2 young children our requirements were well thought out and NTN proposed an interesting age appropriate itinerary which would be enjoyable for all of us.

We stayed at several different hotels / guest houses which were again, thought of with our children in mind, and each place added something to the enjoyment of travelling around the beautiful country. The suggestions of places to visit and added excursions were brilliant and again just added to the fabulous holiday, we spent several days in game reserves and seeing all the animals was a truly magical experience for all of us, not just the children!!

The specifics of the tour such as the vehicle hire, accommodations and pre booked extras / excursions came in voucher form which we were given on arrival at Windhoek, along with maps and driving instructions for each leg of the trip. Every individual aspect ran smoothly and everything we booked was ready and waiting for us as and when we arrived, this was fantastic as we didn’t need to worry and we knew that NTN had very professionally sorted everything ready for us prior to our trip.

Communication was excellent with revising and finalising our itinerary and we were so pleased about our holiday that we have just contacted NTN again about organising our next trip, and we will be repeat customers. We could not fault Nature Travel Namibia in any way, and would highly recommend! An excellent, professional and very knowledgeable company! Nicholas Cliffe – March 2018
Nature Travel dealt with our plans totally professionally from start to finish. All bookings for Kalahari, Okavango and the flights around the area went off like clockwork and their recommendations for lodges were exactly what we wanted.
The whole trip will stay in our memory forever and NT are very highly recommended, especially as booking direct for that area of Botswana is not straightforward.

“Very good services”
Vivian Choi – 9 February 2018
The staff of Nature Travel Namibia are efficient and friendly! They replied emails quickly and the arrangements are also good! They can tailor-made the itinerary based on your requests which is very flexible! Our guide, Holga is a very responsible & experienced tour guide, we had a very good time with Holga during our trip in Namibia!

“Another wonderful wildlife experience with Nature Travel Namibia!”
N&NM – October 2017
This was our fifth birding and wildlife trip with Nature Travel Namibia and once again we had a fantastic time.
We only had a few days in Namibia so we reached out to Nick who suggested a short customized trip for us; all within a few hours’ drive of Windhoek. The whole trip was perfectly organised and we saw all the endemic birds in the area! Nick has exceptional knowledge of the birds and mammals of Namibia, and is especially passionate about conservation in his country. We are already planning our next trip with Nature Travel Birding!

“Namibia is deserts, wildlife, landscapes, sea and amazing people, do not miss this jewel!”
Arancha .
Three of us spent two weeks traveling over Namibia, Botswana and ending in Vic Falls. Esmari put together a tailored-made programme with stays in the most iconic places from the Namib Desert, Naukluft Park, Swakopmund to Etosha, the Caprivi strip, the Okavango Delta and Chobe and ending in Victoria Falls.

We loved her readiness to address our specific requests. The combination of landscapes, colors, wildlife and people was simply stunning. We had a great guide, Lucky Gaoeb who drove us around and helped us discover nature and the countries. Super professional and passionate about his country. He knows every animal and plant! Namib Desert is a must do, keep enough time to discover it and walk around. For wildlife, Etosha Park is a must but if you have time also visit Mahangu reserve were you will have a closeness to wildlife. You cannot miss the Okavango delta, and if you can do a helicopter ride to get an aerial view of this immensity of water. All lodges selected by Nature Travel were excellent. Particularly nice were the Gondwana Namib Desert Resort in Sesriem and Musharra Lodge in Etosha. All and all, highly recommendable! Do visit Namibia.

“Namibian tour designed just for you with great Namib desert and Etosha Game Reserve experiences!”
Beth – July 2017
We had a great 12 day trip through parts of Namibia. We were a family of 4 with a guide provided just for us.
We traveled in a comfortable vehicle from Windhoek into the Namib desert, to Swakopmund, then onto Etosha Game Reserve finishing with a great stop over at the Okinjima Afrikat Foundation to see some leopards and cheetahs.
Esmari was very helpful with arrangements at nature Travel Namibia and our guide Holger was very helpful, experienced and informative.
We were very pleased with the fabulous Namib desert experience, and also with the amount of beautiful African animals that we saw in Etosha National Park.
The accommodation all worked well- and particularly enjoyed staying at Okaukuejo Resort with the access to the water hole for animal viewing!
The Africat Foundation Okinjima was also a particular highlight with lovely rooms, food and experiences. We recommend 2 days there instead of only one.
Holger looked after us very well and we are very pleased with how it all went.
We definitely recommend this tour to other people.

“Perfect organization, from A to Z”
Patrick – June 2017
We spent 8 days in Namibia. The program was very well prepared and our driver/guide was extremely competent. Nothing to add but thank you very much for this extraordinary trip!

“Incredible experience with outstanding guide.”
Karen Woodward.
I’m an experienced traveler having been to 46 countries. This was my third trip to Africa where I’d visited 7 countries but not been to Namibia yet. I discovered Nature Travel Namibia through Safari Bookings and couldn’t be more pleased.

One never knows quite what to expect when trying a new company. What a wonderful surprise this was. Nick Buys has an infectious love and knowledge of his country and wildlife. We made a last minute decision to travel.

With such short notice, he was able to arrange for everything we wanted and was flexible as the trip progressed. Accommodations were superior with wonderful meals. We were on a safari trip, but my boyfriend is also a birder. Nick knows his birds and got me hooked on them too. All future trips to Africa will be with his company. I’ve recommended him to all my friends. I know he also leads birding trips elsewhere and we will definitely go with him.

“Excellent introduction to Namibia! Quality tour from start to finish.”
Bruce Davies – April 2017
Nature Travel Namibia provided an excellent introduction to the marvels of Namibia. The logistics were seamless, the trip itself was amazing, accommodations just right , our guide Kit was perfect , and I would go back with them anytime . Esmari, running their operation, who I have not met but have corresponded with before, during and after the trip, was professional, alert to specific needs, and a delight to deal with. My son, currently a Peace Corps volunteer in Comorous, met me in Windhoek for this trip. It was a trip of a lifetime and it could not have been any better.I recommend Nature Travel Namibia without reservation.
