Kavango-Zambezi Wildlife Safari

Tour Overview
When nature and wildlife lovers imagine the perfect Big Five safari destination, they think of either east or southern Africa. One such quintessential safari destination is the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA) in the heart of the Zambezi region in southern Africa. Although not known by many people, the 520,000 km2 (200,000 sq mi) KAZA is actually the largest conservation area in the world and includes protected areas in five southern African countries, namely Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Angola.

The centre of this massive area is at the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe rivers where the borders of four of the countries meet. It incorporates Botswana’s famous Chobe National Park, the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe/Zambia, Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, and many other national parks, reserves and conservation areas. There is plenty of wildlife in the area not readily found elsewhere in these countries.

This groundbreaking initiative is a joint venture by the Peace Parks Foundation and the World Wide Fund for Nature. As the project grows so will the number of tourists to this area, so now is the perfect time to explore the Caprivi Strip’s smaller parks like Bwabwata, Mamili and Mudumu together with the world-famous Chobe National Park in Botswana and the majestic Victoria Falls on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia.

This 7-day, 3-country safari, although defined by the rivers of the Caprivi, provides a great balance between game drives, boat cruises, and cultural activities. Get ready to see most of Africa’s Big Five, amazing scenery, fantastic birds and so much more. Let’s go to the KAZA!

This tour can be done as a standalone tour, or you can add an extension to Etosha National Park, Mana Pools National Park, Lake Kariba, an additional night or two in Victoria Falls, and much more.
